If you look in the car manual, you can find a lot of interesting things there. For example, the provision on the work of wipers in different weather (climatic) conditions. People called this option "summer" and "winter" modes of wipers. They are needed in order to simplify the work of wipers, increase their efficiency and reduce the rate of wear of rubber brushes. At the same time, it is important to understand that in both modes the wipers will remain in the extreme position, and therefore there will be no problems with cleaning.

Note: the so-called "winter mode" is actually the service mode of the wipers.

In fact, only winter mode has bonuses. It is recommended to transfer the wipers into it when the first snow and ice appears. This option will allow the wipers to be raised much higher, which will allow them to start working with greater efficiency and with less damage to themselves. Of course, in the summer, this option is not needed, and therefore it should be disabled.

Switching is easy. This can be done both through the wipers themselves, and through the electronics. First, you can grasp the wiper with your hand and not pull it up too hard along the windshield. This will activate the wiper service mode. To return to normal, it is also enough to lightly press the wipers down along the glass with your palm.

Secondly, you can find under the hood a wiper connector with the value "FULL CON" and "SEMI CON". All you have to do is flip the plug by flipping it 180 degrees. After rearrangement, the wipers themselves will change the mode to service (or back to normal) with the first start of the engine.
