Helicopter construction began to develop dynamically after the Second World War. It quickly became clear that flying machines with propellers could be of great benefit in the economy and in war. In the Soviet Union, in the matter of designing helicopters, they not only kept up with the rest of the world, but even set a trend in some issues. A huge number of machines have been made in half a century. Let's look at the most interesting of those that today are almost impossible to see.
1. Mi-1
Soviet multipurpose helicopter, which was developed at the M. L. Mile almost immediately after World War II. Serial production of the car was carried out from 1952 to 1960. In total, 2,680 of these machines were assembled in the USSR. The helicopter was used both in the national economy of the country and in the army. In addition, the Mi-1 became the first serial helicopter in the Soviet Union.
2. Mi-2V-2V
Soviet multipurpose helicopter, which was developed and delivered to the assembly line in the early 1960s. It was used primarily for various tasks in the civilian field. In total, about 5400 of these machines were produced. Helicopters were used until 1992. A combat version armed with guided missiles appeared in 1965.
3. Mi-6
Soviet heavy multipurpose helicopter, created for the needs of the army and the national economy. He used the classic layout scheme and became the predecessor of the Mi-8. The main feature of the Mi-6 was that this Soviet aircraft became the first helicopter in the world to use two turboshaft engines with a free turbine.
4. Mi-8T
The most massive twin-engine helicopter in the history of world aviation. The machine OKB M.L. Mile in the early 1960s. It is positioned as a heavy multipurpose helicopter for performing military and civilian missions of various kinds. The machine is still in use today. The first flight took place on July 9, 1961. The car turned out to be very successful and is actively exported to more than 50 countries of the world.

5. Mi-10
Military transport helicopter, built in 1964. In fact, the Mi-10 is a flying crane. The vehicle was put into service in 1963. Was going serial at the Rostov Helicopter Plant. It was also used after the collapse of the USSR until 2009, until it lost its niche to a more modern car.
6. Mi-12
There are heavy helicopters, and then there is the Mi-12, which is the world's heaviest helicopter ever built by man. In addition, the Mi-12 is naturally also the most cargo-lifting helicopter. It is capable of lifting up to 40.2 tons of cargo to a height of 2250 meters. It is also interesting that the helicopter is also quite quiet, with a low level of noise and vibration generated.

7. Mi-22
Flying command post based on the Mi-6 helicopter. It can be used to control air units and ground units. The vehicle can begin to perform its tasks (as a command post) immediately after landing and deploying equipment. A total of 36 such helicopters were created. Operated until 1996.
8. Ka-18
A multipurpose Soviet helicopter that appeared in the late 1950s. The car was awarded a gold medal at an exhibition in Brussels in 1958. Despite numerous advantages, the car never made it to the series. In total, two such helicopters were created. Only one has survived to this day.
9. Ka-25P
A ship-based anti-submarine helicopter created in the USSR. Serially produced since 1965. At the same time, the machine was adopted only in 1971. Became the first Soviet anti-submarine helicopter. The helicopter does not have a dual purpose and from the very beginning was created exclusively for the needs of the fleet.
10. Yak-24
Soviet twin-rotor helicopter with a long fuselage. The car made its first flight back in 1952. The Yak-24 was created for the needs of the army.
