There is a huge number of "atypical" situations that not every motorist faces. However, it is for this reason that those who do find themselves in such a position, then, have no idea how to be and what to do. For example, you can run into trouble with law enforcement officials by simply carrying a can of gasoline in the trunk of your car.

It would seem, what questions in general can there be, and even more so claims to a motorist who transports fuel in a canister? However, practice shows that the questions can be the most serious, primarily in the field of the correct transportation of dangerous goods. It comes to the point that the traffic police inspectors draw up protocols on administrative offenses and impose a fine of up to 2.5 thousand rubles. In some cases, they may even be deprived of a driver's license. Surely, many who find themselves in such a situation have a question in the spirit: “What could have been so?”.

So, we have a decree of the government of the Russian Federation of April 15, 2011 No. No. 272., Which states that dangerous goods must be transported in accordance with the requirements, established by the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (its provisions A and B). In the same agreement, there is a clause that states that it is prohibited to transport more than 60 liters of fuel per unit of non-specialized transport.

At the same time, clause 1.1.3.6 specifies that fuel can be transported in a car if it is poured into a special barrel. The maximum volume of transported gasoline is 333 liters, and diesel fuel - 1000 liters.

But as you know, the devil is in the little things. Even if the transported volume of fuel is small, the traffic police officer can still issue a fine. This is because not only the displacement is important, but also the container in which the fuel is stored. Simply put, the barrel or canister must be specially designed for storing fuel and made of appropriate materials. Such containers have corresponding designations on their bodies.

So, if you do not want to have problems with the law, you should not pour gasoline and diesel in glass and plastic containers.
