The bottles used as raw materials must be of the same color. Otherwise, the mesh will be dazzling and will have to be additionally painted. And this is even more expensive. Meanwhile, the tapered spout of the "bottle cutter" is shortened so that the diameter of the outlet is 3-4 mm.
Next, a guide rail is placed, which will work as a form for the chain-link segments. Fiberboard or plywood with a thickness of about 5 mm is best suited for this role. On it, using a file, gutters are made with an inclination of 45 degrees. You will also need to make a guide from a nail and a ballpoint pen.

Now all that remains is to assemble the entire structure and charge it with pre-prepared fragments of plastic bottles. The plastic is heated with an open flame, melted and sent to the mold. When the strips of the future chain-link are ready, they are suspended in a horizontal position. Each new ribbon should be woven into one piece with the previous one.
