Houseplants are in almost every home - they always add life, natural colors to the interior and refresh any room.
Designer Alexandra Dashkevich gave several recommendations that will help you use plants in the interior and achieve complete harmony in the house.
7. Each plant has its own character
It is important to place them correctly in the apartment: shade-loving ones are in the corners, away from windows, and those that need sunlight, on the contrary, are closer to the sources of natural light.
If your hallway is too dark, you can freshen it up with some unpretentious plant that will be more comfortable away from the sun and light.
6. Don't let the plants take over the interior
Larger plants will look better in larger spaces such as the living room. Especially those with wide leaves.
Trying to fit a tree in a heavy pot in a small bedroom is not worth it. This will take away the square centimeters, which are especially valuable in compact spaces. In addition, the room can lose its appearance and turn into a "jungle".
5. Don't forget - they are alive
Plants are alive. Some of them have their own special properties that need to be considered.
According to botanists, ferns and lilies absorb oxygen and emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This is unlikely to lead to any serious consequences if you put them in a spacious living room. But placing them in a small bedroom is still undesirable.
Even the fragrant smell can get tired. Therefore, it can be exhausting to keep strongly scented flowers next to the bed all the time.
4. Choose your accessories carefully
Plants themselves look appropriate in almost any interior style. However, pots, pots and other similar accessories are the same decorative elements as, for example, paintings, clocks, and so on.
In a more classic interior, massive flowerpots will look good, and laconic pots will suit minimalism.
3. Organize all plants into a system
If you're worried that a random combination of plants in a room might look too chaotic, try putting them all into a single composition.
Find pots that are the same or similar in appearance, but in different sizes. So, on the one hand, you will preserve the variety, and on the other, you will somewhat streamline the interior and make it more solid.

Flowers can turn into a full-fledged, "bearing" element of the interior or even into an art object.
Therefore, if any of your rooms lacks a bright shake - use this technique, create a live focal point.

Sometimes plants can be delegated some quite practical functions. For example, a tub with tall plants may well replace a screen and become an element of zoning.
With the help of colors, you can visually slightly smooth out the problem of the cramped room. Use climbing plants for this. Arrange them so that they fall off hanging planters or ceiling-mounted shelves.
