Many of us strive to quickly deal with the repair, making a choice in favor of long-known and proven materials. However, every year the market is replenished with new products. Some of them seem not quite real and almost magical.
For those who do not want to go the beaten path and are ready to experiment, the designer Olesya Berezovskaya prepared a selection of innovative materials in interior decoration.
5. Flexible stone
Consists of the finest cut of sandstone glued to a textile backing. It looks and feels like natural stone and is durable, and does not emit harmful compounds during operation.
Flexible stone is available in the form of wallpaper (rolls from 2 to 2.8 meters) and tiles. It can be glued to various surfaces - concrete, wood, glass or metal can be used as a base.
The material can be used not only for interior decoration, but also for cladding buildings. Due to the fact that flexible stone has high water-repellent properties, it can also be considered for rooms with high humidity.
4. Live tile
Suitable for those who do not accept static in the interior. Live tiles will provide an opportunity to add interactive presentation to the design. It is a tempered glass surface that changes color and pattern when touched or a person steps.
A similar effect is provided by a special colored gel that spreads inside under the influence of pressure. In addition, these tiles can suppress vibration and sounds.
Today it is used not only as a floor covering, but also for countertops. Among the disadvantages of tiles, one can note its instability to too low and high temperatures.
3. Thermal wallpaper
The coating can change color and pattern depending on the room temperature.
A similar effect is achieved through thermal paint. However, wallpaper reveals its secrets only at an air temperature of 25 degrees, which exceeds a comfortable norm for a person. In this regard, it is recommended to take care of the proper distribution of heaters in the apartment, or that they are exposed to sunlight.
The palette of patterns for such wallpapers, unfortunately, is not yet very diverse and mainly shows a floral print. Moreover, their cost is quite high.
2. Flexible tree
Have you ever thought about wood having the flexibility of textiles? Today it has become possible - you can wrap anything you want in a flexible tree.
This material is created as follows: plywood figures, usually equilateral triangles or rhombuses, are attached to a polymer mesh and nylon canvas.
Flexible wood can have a variety of purposes - it is used for decorating walls, covering furniture, or creating various fancy compositions.
1. Wood light transmission composite
Composite is made of thin wood panels interconnected with fiberglass. The degree of its light transmission depends on the type of wood used and the distance between the panels. Accordingly, the larger it is, the more transparent the composition you will get.
This material will be a good solution for creating partitions. It will allow not to burden the interior space of the room and make it more airy.
You can also consider different designs or patterns and play around with the backlight. The created paintings can become a full-fledged art object.
