I want to devote this collection to useful little things that can be bought for less than 100 rubles in most gardening stores.
1. Seed dispenser
This small device makes it possible to dispense medium and small seeds in a metered dose. Holes located in the transparent cover allow you to adjust the amount of seed spilling out. The product will be useful to anyone who grows garden and horticultural crops from seeds.
Sowing takes place by light single taps on the body. Thanks to the cone-shaped blade, the seeds fall exactly where you want them.
There are quite a few types of dispensers, but even the most expensive ones are quite affordable for a simple gardener. Such products do not have an expiration date and break, usually due to external physical damage.
2. Bulb basket
These shallow baskets with a mesh bottom are designed for planting and storing bulbous plants. The device is placed in a pre-dug hole and filled with earth. If the soil on the site is poor, the container can be filled with a separate nutrient substrate. The large number of drainage holes allows plants to draw water and nutrients directly from the ground.
Plants planted in a basket do not go into the ground and do not creep over the site. If necessary, the bulbs can be easily dug out without the risk of being damaged by the spatula. The fine mesh is able to protect against a number of harmful rodents. The products do not have an expiration date and break only after numerous damages caused by a garden tool.
Flowers planted in such baskets grow in neat islands in the beds. Compositions look quite impressive.
3. Soil thermometer
From the first days of the beginning of the season, a thermometer that determines the temperature of the soil will become a faithful assistant for the gardener. I will not tell you why such a tool is needed. Let me just remind you that the measurements made by the device are much more accurate than subjective sensations. Therefore, it is advisable to use a thermometer to determine the readiness of the soil for planting.
The simplest types of thermometers can be purchased for less than 100 rubles. Despite their low cost, they will fully fulfill their function. Even with a small budget, you will have plenty to choose from.
4. Knee pads for work
To keep the lower back healthy, doctors recommend kneeling on the beds. This position allows you to evenly distribute the load between your back, legs and arms. Knee pads will help you work comfortably in this position. They are easy to put on and do not cause discomfort while walking. The dense material of which the base is made protects against moisture, cold and physical damage.
Knee pads are sold in any hardware store at a price of 250 to 1000 rubles. However, you can seriously save money by purchasing analogs for fishing. Their cost starts from 99 rubles per pair.
5. Garter wire with cutter
Another useful little thing will be a wire for tying plants. It is sold in a small reel equipped with a cutter. The standard length is 30 meters. The metal core is covered with a plastic sheath that protects the plants from damage.
It is much more convenient to work with such a reel than with twine and scissors. The wire bends easily and retains its shape well. The end is always at hand and can be easily cut off when needed.
