In this article, I want to continue my selection of useful homemade products for a summer residence and a vegetable garden. All the devices described can be made without special tools and special skills. I hope the ideas presented will be useful to you.

1. Garden wheelbarrow holder

So that during storage the wheelbarrow does not take up much space, special mounts can be made for it on the wall. The simplest mechanism consists of a wooden strip and a latch. The first takes the weight of the product, and the second fixes the body in an upright position.

Mounts can be placed on a fence or barn wall. It is important that the plane is strong enough to support a decent weight of garden tools. Depending on the design, an empty wheelbarrow weighs between 10 and 15 kg.

This type of storage allows not only to free up space, but also to protect the body from moisture and debris. The wheelbarrow will no longer accumulate leaves, branches and rainwater.

2. Firewood carrier

A firewood carrier can be made from a piece of thick cloth and two sticks. The device is a folding bag with wooden handles. It allows you not only to free one hand, but also to keep your clothes clean. For balance, you can use two of these carriers at once.

Not only sticks can be used as handles. Small diameter PVC pipes are perfect for these purposes. They are strong enough to support the weight of a bunch of firewood. To prevent the handles from falling out, the fabric can be sewn around the edges.

It should be noted that these carriers are very convenient to store. They practically do not take up space. The fabric wrapped around the handles can be put under the bedside table or in the layout box.

3. Greenhouse with opening doors

In order not to manually fold the film from the greenhouse, the design of the latter can be improved. Opening doors will be an excellent solution. They are attached to the wooden bed frame with door hinges. It turns out a fairly simple, but at the same time very practical solution. It becomes much more convenient to open and close the greenhouse.

Such a design has a number of significant advantages over a small classic analogue:

  • The opening sashes are attached to the body, which means that the film will not be carried away even by a strong wind;
  • The film on such greenhouses practically does not wear out, therefore, its service life increases several times;
  • The sash can be fixed in any position with a stick or a wooden corner;
  • The film does not need to be pressed, which means that bricks, sticks and logs will no longer lie on the paths.

It is also worth noting that such a solution is budgetary and generally available. If desired, everyone can improve the design of the greenhouse.

4. Vegetable drying table

Many garden crops require drying after harvest. For these purposes, you can use benches, work benches, cloth mats and other suitable items. However, these options have one significant drawback. Vegetables lying on their sides should be turned over regularly.

To save time, you can make a special table for drying. The structure is a wooden frame with legs and a net made of thin slats. The distance between the sticks varies from 3 to 6 cm. This is necessary for drying fruits of different sizes. To save space, the table can have several levels at once.

Unlike benches and workbenches, such a structure can be easily carried away from the scorching rays of the sun.

5. Apron for picking berries

To prevent the berries from falling to the ground during picking, you can make an unusual apron from an old hoop and trimming fabric. The design is somewhat reminiscent of a large butterfly net. Homemade allows you to harvest by gently shaking individual branches. This speeds up the process and reduces the amount of lost berries.
