A neighbor showed how to cut a thread on a polypropylene pipe. Instead of soldering.

And what could be so? I asked my neighbor in the garden when I visited his "hacienda". About five years ago. Such an extraordinary way of attaching pipes to each other could not fit in my head threading of plastic parts of the pipeline.

This measure was forced in those days, non-ferrous metal lovers got into their gardens, and my friend, using combined couplings, was collecting summer water supply. So these "ghouls" assembled valves and even cut out polypropylene couplings with brass threads. Therefore, a friend decided to assemble a collapsible irrigation pipeline made of plastic without brass threads. This is what the need for inventions is cunning.

Then I had not yet written an article on "Zen" so I had not captured this marasmus life hack. But today I will repeat for you these methods that the neighbor told me about. And what can I say, sometimes you yourself have to cut the thread for your crafts. I have a bunch of them on the channel. For the first method, we need polypropylene pipeline parts with a diameter of 20 mm. Brass fitting with internal and external threads with a diameter of 15 mm and a little soldering iron (p-p welding machine)

There will be a lot of photos in the galleries, do not forget to flip through.

The first way, hot

To do this, it is necessary to heat the fitting with the future internal thread in the welding machine head for one second. And immediately we twist the external thread into it until it stops. Thus, we create the relief of the future carving.

With external thread the same, we heat the tube with a diameter of 20 mm for a second, completely putting it into the nozzle. And immediately we screw on the brass fitting with an internal thread. After that I connected two plastic threads together, the last photo.

Cold way. Without a welding machine (soldering iron).

The most difficult method. We do the same with brass threads and plastic parts as in the first method, excluding the stage of heating polypropylene in a soldering iron. In this case, the polypropylene is pressed into the cold one, which requires great efforts when screwing in. Also, stress is created in a plastic part with an internal thread, which can lead to rupture of the part ...

In either case, threads are created that have the necessary strength characteristics for crafts and watering pipes.

Warning

In no case should this method be used in multi-apartment residential buildings, this madness on your part may result in material damage. Flood your apartment and your beloved neighbors.
