Recently I went to a hardware store, in search of a second, good pliers for the garage. And I was very much surprised that the tool manufacturers incorrectly name their product.

Below in the photo you see the pliers.

How do pliers differ from pliers? I am sure that every second person does not know these simple differences.

But in a strange way the Firm Stayer, calls his tool pliers... But the same stand has the right tool:

Pliers firms "Sturm" and "Patriot". The shape of the instrument corresponds to the name.

In another store, I again found the "wrong" name of the tool, but from the firms "Bison" and "Tool Berg".

Why do they call pliers pliers? If you know, tell me and the readers why this is done.

How are Pliers different from Pliers?

This difference I will show you on my pliers, firms "Dexter"

They have been in my service for a long time, but their coating has been preserved, they have spring-loaded moving parts. Curved handle for a comfortable grip on the workpiece.

The main difference between pliers and pliers is the ability to hold the bars of the processed metal.

Pliers, unlike pliers, have one or two pairs of toothed grooves for gripping and turning cylindrical parts

Or even with pliers, you can make a grip, NUTS. Which, under certain conditions, replaces a wrench.

Pliers, on the other hand, cannot boast of this ability. If they hold the bar during machining, it will pop out. They are adapted to hold sheet metal (material). Scroll through the gallery.

Strange, but the pliers could not be found on sale, I had to dig them up in the garage bins... This is most likely due to the minimal functionality. Such a tool is not in demand.
