I gave my neighbor a tool (jigsaw) with a tachometer, now I will know how many hours he wore it out

This waterproof capsule contains a sensor that reads the readings of electrical devices and transmits them to the phone.

I took it off the household water meter that everyone can have in their apartment. Unfortunately, my meter broke down after a short time. I had to disassemble it and pull out the module.

I talked about this counter earlier, the link will be at the end of the article. The reason for the breakdown of my water meter was a dead battery. I managed to change it. But you cannot put it on the water supply system. Because it is necessary to carry out verification, and it costs money. And ordinary counters suit me.

I have a question what to do with an electronic module that reads electromagnetic disturbances from electric motors ???

Eureka!!! It can be plugged into any power tool that has an engine on board and it will record the operating time of the device in a smartphone, in a special. application.

We implement the idea

I have a neighbor who periodically takes some power tools from me. I don’t want to refuse him because sometimes it helps in some cases. Yesterday he asked me about the jigsaw, so we'll stick our "pribluda" there.

Having disassembled the Makita, I came to the conclusion that our transmitter does not fit into it.

But I was not going to give up. It was decided to hang the electromagnetic field sensor on the cord. Having previously packed it so that my neighbor, asking what it is, could believe that this is some kind of capacitor, without which it does not work.

Our device is packed in a 50th shrink and sealed. The jigsaw is also attached to the power cord.

Then I tested it. I found out how many liters the radio module will count in five minutes of jigsaw operation. It sounds crazy but it is!

Do not forget to flip through the gallery with photos.

At the beginning of the test, the device showed 21.567 cubic meters. after five minutes of operation of the electric motor, our instrument counted 21.718 cubic meters. As a result, our jigsaw "used up 151 liters of water." It turns out that one minute of jigsaw work is equal to 30 liters.

This idea could prompt power tool manufacturers to incorporate these parts into their appliances. For example, no one will mind if your smartphone contains information from a punch that it is necessary to change the brushes, after operating certain hours. The operating time of the instrument will be displayed on the display panel. For those who rent out tools, this is important information. It will also be seen in production how many workers worked. (oil oil), for example a grinder. I can also detect my sensor within a radius of 20 meters using bluetooth. This can be important if the tool is stuck in a locker and no one recognizes where the power tool is. There are dozens of ideas.

I'm waiting for your sparkling jokes, about what kind of idiot the author is. But do not expect that you can offend the author thereby. You just amuse him and reasonable readers.

By the way, the jigsaw that I disassembled is very high quality, for a year of use there were no complaints, there is practically no wear, I bought it from a reliable supplier- here.

Thanks for attention! Do you think the author's work deserves a like? I think yes.
