The other day, in a private house, I was changing the mixer. I managed the work quickly and efficiently (I work as a plumber). The owner paid for the service performed and says:

Listen, I have a gas boiler in my yard, worker. He could not cope with the load, at one time the builders of the townhouse in which we live installed a wall-mounted boiler that worked to the limit. The house did not warm up well in severe frosts. So we decided to change it. And the old one is still lying in the yard, getting in the way. Take it away, give it away ...

"This is a gift!" I told the client. He gave me a wall-mounted gas boiler for nothing. I disassemble it and enjoy the parts as a child.

"Thank you, but you definitely don't need anything in return?" To celebrate, I shook it.

No, THANKS from a kind person will be enough. He told me.

Thank you so much for such an interesting thing! I told him, loading a heavy boiler into the trunk of my swallow ...

And here he is in my garage, leaf through the gallery:

Immediately on the Internet I started looking for information about him. Double-circuit boiler (heats hot water and heating). It has a remote control panel. In the gallery above, you saw a close-up of this remote control. You can see the full characteristics on the plate:

Arderia ESR 2.13 boiler. As I understand it, such a device has already been discontinued. First of all, I connected it to the network. The fan started working, the remote control began to show signs of life:

The entire inner world of the boiler is under the cover:

It has a circulation pump, expansion tank, combustion chamber, primary heat exchanger, secondary heat exchanger for hot water supply. Control board, turbine for air supply, gas valve and three-way valve and much more on the little things... If all this is working properly, then it seems to cost money:

I found the prices for spare parts for this boiler in the Ya widget. Market:

Looking closely at my present, I saw that the expansion tank was of a strange shape:

It's bloated... At that moment I thought that the cauldron was frozen... And it really is, they kept it on the street, and now it's winter. Apparently the installers did not drain the water to the end.

I had to dismantle this tank.

It contained frozen water. Damn, I thought to myself. This means that the circulation pump is also damaged. I started to shoot him too:

But thank God, the water was drained from it and it was started. I also had to remove the secondary heat exchanger for hot water preparation:

He was dry, which means whole and serviceable.

The three-way valve did not begin to be removed, I think it did not suffer either. The gas valve is also intact and safe.

So is the control board.

What to do?

With this good. Answer options:

  • Hand over to color as it is. I think copper will be enough.
  • Sell for parts on AVITO
  • Let it lie until better times

So the kind owner drove me to joyful chores, I puzzle what to do. What would you do? Having received such a surprise as a gift.
