Hello dear readers of my channel!
Last summer I wanted to make an interesting storage refrigerator for drinks in the ground in the garden. I saw this idea a long time ago on YouTube, it seemed to me interesting to implement. I decided to try it and in a few hours everything worked out for me.
To make the storage, I used:
· Plastic sewer pipes with a diameter of 160 mm;
· Grinder, screwdriver;
· Marker, tape measure, sandpaper, knife;
· Scotch tape, liquid superglue, soda;
· Solid foam (penoplex);
· Silicone sealant;
· Gas burner;
· Self-tapping screws;
· Cover from a plastic bucket;
· Solvent;
· Paint in spray cans;
· Shovel.
After making and demonstrating such a refrigerator, the WOW effect was achieved when my friends and comrades saw it.
The storage capacity turned out to be 9 half-liter cans or bottles.
Step 1.
I cut off 2 pieces of pipe 1 meter long. He sawed one piece lengthwise with a grinder and put it in another piece of pipe. He noted how much excess plastic needed to be cut off and cut it off with a grinder.
Step 2.
It turned out that one piece of pipe freely goes inside the second. Sandpaper processed the sawn edges.
Step 3.
Now you need to make the sawn pipe solid. I just wanted to try the method with liquid superglue and soda for a long time. The pipe was temporarily sealed with tape. He poured glue into the cut and sprinkled it with soda.
The glue and soda react instantly, forming a fairly strong connection.
I cleaned the glued seam with sandpaper and glued the missing places.
Step 4.
I cut 4 circles from penoplex. 1 for the outer pipe and 3 for the inner pipe. I glued the circle to the outer pipe with silicone sealant and carefully missed the cracks.
Step 5.
I made markings on the inner pipe based on the size of the beverage cans. If you make under, for example, liter or other bottles, then the size will be different. In general, the size is selected individually.
Step 6.
Using a grinder, I cut out the windows according to the markings. I cleaned the edges of the saws with sandpaper.
Step 7.
Glued 3 circles of foam into the inner tube on silicone.
Step 8.
I took a strip of plastic that remained from sawing the first pipe, marked it out, and using a gas burner made a handle.
Step 9.
I drilled holes, screwed in self-tapping screws and cut off the excess. I filled it in with superglue to make sure.
Step 10.
I sawed off a ring about 3 cm wide from the socket. And I cut out the middle from the plastic lid from the bucket and glued both parts with sealant. This will be the cover.
Step 11.
I wiped the inner tube and cap with solvent and painted with green paint from a can.
Step 12.
In the garden, I chose a place near the seating area and dug a hole of sufficient depth.
I placed the outer pipe in the hole so that it protrudes about 3-5 cm above the ground. He covered the earth in small portions, ramming with the handle of a shovel and pouring water.
When the hole was buried, I painted the top of the pipe with the same paint.
That's it, the refrigerator storage is ready.
It is closed with a lid and a flower pot is placed on top. The store is completely invisible, the impression is that there is simply a flower pot on a stand.
In summer, at 40 degrees Celsius, drinks in such a refrigerator are always cool. Due to the silicone, the pipe turned out to be airtight, so the water is not terrible.
In general, I liked the idea itself and the manufacturing process gave me great pleasure.
