Greetings to all handicraft lovers!
I'm sure every home has one liter cans with screw caps. So, these cans can be nicely decorated for storing bulk food. The decor is very simple and does not require expensive materials.
If you love handicrafts and often do crafts, then you will definitely find most, and maybe even all the materials.
For decoration we used:
· Liter jars with lids;
· Thinner or nail polish remover;
· Beautiful fabric;
· Sewing meter, scissors, brush;
· PVA glue and hot glue;
· Jute twine;
· Several halves of beads;
· Acrylic paint;
· Acrylic lacquer.
I specially highlight this text in bold, and appeal to those who are far from needlework, just go by, do not waste your time reading this article and writing a bilious comment.
Step 1.
Degrease the jar with a solvent or nail polish remover. After that, the glue will stick better.
Step 2.
We measure the circumference of the can with a meter and cut a piece of the desired size from the fabric we like.
Step 3.
We apply PVA glue (we use construction and thick) on the fabric and glue it to the jar.
Wipe off excess glue with a cloth. If you get a large overlap, cut it off.
Step 4.
We paint the covers with acrylic paint using a piece of foam rubber. Use whatever color you like.
Step 5.
We braid a pigtail from jute twine and glue it to the jar.
Step 6.
We also make a small bow from jute twine and glue it.
We glue a bead in the center of the bow.
Step 7.
We had flowers on the fabric, which we cut out and glued to the lid. If you have fabric without flowers, then you can use a decoupage napkin.
Step 8.
After the glue had dried, everything was covered with acrylic varnish.
Done!
