Friends, I greet you!
I want to share with you a homemade mass, which, after drying, becomes as strong as a stone. The mass can be used both for sculpting and for molding into molds.
To prepare the mass you will need:
· Starch, corn or potato without a difference;
· Cement (I used the M400 brand);
· PVA glue (construction);
· Any vegetable oil.
The mass is very easy to prepare, and it is very easy and pleasant to work with it. It does not need to be baked like polymer clay, it dries on its own. During drying, no cracks were noticed, practically no shrinkage. It is afraid of water, so it is worth covering with paint or varnish after drying.
Step 1.
I dry mix 5 parts of starch and 1 part of cement.
Step 2.
I add the approximate amount of glue. I will not say the exact one, since all manufacturers have different liquids.
I start to knead. If there is not enough glue, then I add more.
Step 3.
When the mass already begins to thicken, I continue to knead like dough on the table, with a small addition of starch. I achieve this state until it ceases to stick to my hands.
Step 4.
For greater plasticity, I add a little vegetable oil and more mnu.
The mass becomes very plastic and stretches well.
I will say right away that I have not tried synthetic and engine oils, only vegetable oils.
Such a mass is perfectly formed into molds, transferring even the smallest details. You can sculpt from it, practically, like from plasticine, only you need to choose the right hardness.
You can also immediately add dyes to the mass or paint after drying, just wash off the excess oil with a detergent and immediately dry the part with a napkin. Nothing will happen from short-term contact with water.
It is not possible to store the mass, even in a tight bag, after 24 hours it is no longer suitable for use. So it is worth kneading for 1 time.
Parts made of such a mass dry from 1 to 3 sometimes and more days, depending on the thickness of the product. The result is very strong and durable if protected from water.
