A couple of plastic buckets were lying around and we implemented 2 simple ideas for the garden

  • Dec 17, 2020

Hello dear friends and guests of the channel!

I hasten to share with you our new crafts for the garden. Made 2 large flower pots out of plastic buckets, rags and cement with sand. We made these flowerpots especially for our yard, which was a little empty. But they can also be placed in the garden, they are varnished and are not afraid of water.

Here's what we needed:

· 2 plastic buckets with a volume of 7 kg;

· Pallet (optional);

· Knife, scissors, sandpaper;

· Cement M400, sand, PVA glue;

· HB fabric (it absorbs water well);

· Cookie cutter;

· Old clothesline;

· Acrylic paints;

· Universal varnish in a spray can.

Idea 1.

Step 1.

A hole was made in the bottom of the plastic bucket with a soldering iron. You can just cut it with a knife. Cut off the top side.

Step 2.

In a container, they diluted cement (without sand) with water, until the consistency of thick sour cream. They were well moistened with rags in a solution and glued to a bucket.

Step 3.

The rest of the cement mixture was applied with a brush to the pot.

Step 4.

After 12 hours, the irregularities were slightly removed with coarse sandpaper.

Step 5.

We made a "cement paste". 200 gr. sand, 200 gr. cement, 1 tablespoon of PVA glue and 100 ml. water. Kneaded like dough and rolled out a bottle.

Using an old cookie cutter, we made flowers.

Step 6.

We glued raw flowers to the pot using PVA. We made streaks with a stick and a toothpick.

First, we did 1 side, and after 2 hours everything else.

Leave to dry for 24 hours.

Step 7.

Painted with gray acrylic paint.

Then some white and silver.

Step 8.

The pot was abundantly varnished in 2 layers.

Done!

Idea 2.

The base for the pot was made in the same way as in the first version.

Step 1.

We made a solution of cement, PVA and water. Approx. 300 gr. cement, 2 tbsp. spoons of glue and about 150 ml. water.

Step 2.

The clothesline was soaked in cement mortar and laid in a random pattern on the pot.

They left to dry for 12 hours.

Step 3.

Painted in the same way as the first pot and also varnished.

The second pot is ready.

This varnish protects well against water and moisture, so the pots are not afraid of rain. I don’t know about the frost, we’ll just put the pots in the garage for the winter. You can paint such pots in any color you like.
