How to update a kitchen facade with your own hands: instructions for updating, price, video, photo

You can refresh the interior by updating the appearance of the lockers, which is much cheaper and easier. Method 1. Decorative film

Using a self-adhesive decorative film is perhaps one of the most affordable options for updating a headset. Now on the market there is a huge range of films - smooth and shiny, transparent and matte, with patterns and ornaments.

This material is very practical and durable, it also easily tolerates moisture and high temperatures. In the process of working with film, you will need:

• directly the vinyl self-adhesive itself;
• stationery knife and scissors;
• centimeter and ruler;
• an even trowel or scraper for smoothing.

Before you update the facade of the kitchen with your own hands with the help of a film, prepare yourself for the fact that in the process of gluing it can be very moody. But with a little patience and some free time, you will have a new headset ready.

	Install moldings. Cut decorative skirting boards into pieces of the required length, saw down their edges at an angle of 45 degrees. Attach the prepared planks to the facade with wood glue or liquid nails.
	Prime the surface. Fill paint reservoir in spray gun with primer. Spray the primer from a distance of 15-20 centimeters. Wait an hour for the surface to dry.

Method 3. Decorative inserts

If you are not ready for drastic changes, but the desire to update the kitchen facades under a certain style is present - you can decorate old cabinets with ceramic tiles or rattan.

A very original technique is the use of small decorative tiles as a decoration for the headset. To do this, you need directly tiles, moldings and special glue for ceramics.

The instructions for decorating with tiles are a lot like the previous description. You need to remove the doors, clean them, glue the tiles, and then simply decorate the resulting application with moldings.

Replacement of facades

Replacing the facades with new ones is the most radical way to update the headset, the price of which is the highest among the indicated methods. Regardless of whether you decide to buy ready-made facades, order according to an individual order or make them yourself, remember a few nuances:

• Consider the existing design. Before choosing facades, evaluate the existing kitchen interior. Choose the appropriate texture, decor and color of the facade.
• Take careful measurements. To make the installation of facades successful, take the time to make the necessary measurements. You don't want the purchased facades to simply not fit in size, do you?

Determining the required dimensions is quite simple. First, determine the height of the kitchen cabinet and subtract 3 mm from it. Then measure the width of the cabinet and subtract 4 mm from the resulting figure.

• Prepare the toolbox. Make sure you have all the necessary tools before installing new facades. You will need a screwdriver, drills, screwdriver, square and tape measure.
