It is worth for a while to stop following Ikea's novelties, and the assortment will no longer be recognized. When I was choosing a kitchen three years ago, I spent a lot of time on their website, and I did the project with the help of an ikeev planner. Then such unusual names for our ears as Stot, Albru, Lidingo, Ramshe stuck in our memory - each Ikea kitchen has its own "name", like all the products of this European company.

And now they have a major update. And not only on the facades, the modular system has completely changed. Previously, all kitchen cabinets were called Factum, now Method. What is the difference and what facade options are offered this season?

Constructive changes

Recent owners of Factum kitchens that have been produced over the past two decades can be disappointed. But not only because it will be possible to buy the necessary modules and facades only within the next one and a half to two years, after which they will be removed from production.

The annoyance may arise in connection with the fact that it was only necessary to wait a little and buy more comfortable, practical, functional and perfect furniture Method.

I will list its features and differences from the previous system.

1. First of all, the changes affected the size of the cabinets. Now they are available in widths from 20 to 100 cm in 20 cm increments. If the height of the floor modules under the countertop used to be standard - 70 cm, now the company has gone to meet people of short stature, starting to produce cabinets 60 cm. And the previous "seventy" have grown to 80 cm by reducing the height of the base. In addition, the legs can be used to adjust the position of the tabletop. We should also mention cabinets of the Maksimera series, 88 cm high, installed without legs.
2. For 60 cm floor-standing cabinets, you can take special adjustable legs with a height of 28-29 cm in order to equalize them in height with standard.

1. The design of the cabinets is also different: a galvanized steel strapping has appeared, which makes them more reliable and stable. She can be seen in the photo.

1. Another nice innovation: in addition to white, dark frames appeared. Now, when buying a dark headset, it is not necessary to trim the visible side walls with patch panels.

1. The innovations also affected the mounting method: all wall cabinets are hung on one steel rail, which makes it easier to align them horizontally with your own hands.

These are only major changes. There are other nice bonuses as well.

For example, the appearance:

1. oven cabinet with ventilation grill;
2. built-in LED lighting for cabinets, which automatically turns on when the door is opened or the drawer is pulled out;
3. interior accessories - hinges, door closers, sliding systems - all the same unsurpassed Bloom. Only in an improved version.

However, I see a big minus in the fact that modules with a width of 30 or 50 cm are missing. If the wall in a small kitchen has a length of, for example, 210 cm, then it will not be possible to choose a combination of cabinets that takes up the entire space - precious 10 cm will remain unused.

In principle, this is the main disadvantage of all standard systems, in contrast to custom-made kitchens. Centimeters may not be 10, but 5 or 8 or 12, in any case they would not be superfluous. It is for this reason that I at one time abandoned Ikea, despite all its advantages.

New facades

If the convenience and practicality of the kitchen depend on the design of the frames and their internal filling, then the beauty, appearance and how the set will look in the interior - from the design of the facades.

As before, their main colors in Ikea are basic, restrained. These are different shades of white, gray, black, beige, brown. Moreover, the latter most often imitate natural wood, and several series are made from solid wood. There are also bright facades, but in very limited quantities.

What is more pleasing is the appearance of 45 cm wide front panels for dishwashers. Previously, such dishwashers had to be covered with 50 cm panels. I took their cost as a basis for comparing prices for different series of facades. It is impossible to compare the cost of cabinets: it depends not only on the size and type of facades, but also on fittings and filling.

Wedding

Material - chipboard, painted with acrylic and polyester paint. The surface is glossy, lacquered, easy to clean.

The price of the panel is 2100 rubles.

Brockhult

It belongs to the same price range as the previous model, but the chipboard is finished with a walnut film.

Voxtorp

The basis is the same - chipboard in a glossy film. The back of the door is also protected with melamine foil, and its edges are protected with ABS plastic. The color is white and light beige.

The cost of the panel for PMM is already much higher - 3800 rubles.

Budbin

Like Weddinge, the chipboard facades of this series are painted with high-quality acrylic and polished with polyester paint. But they are paneled, which allows you to create a kitchen in a classic or country style. The color is white and gray.

The price of the panel is 3800 rubles.

Dalarna

Solid birch covered with wood stain and acrylic or polyurethane varnish. The color is white with a natural shade or dark brown, depending on the color of the stain.

The price is 3000 rubles.

Grevsta

Original facades made of chipboard, covered with stainless steel. The surface is magnetic. Ideally combined with stainless steel kitchen appliances. Can be used for the entire headset, or in combination with other smooth colored doors.

The cost is 3000 rubles.

Garrestad

A non-standard solution for the kitchen - facades with a complex relief formed by many faces. Material - chipboard in melamine film.

Due to the complex and unusual surface, the price is quite high: a 40 cm wide facade costs 5700 rubles (there are no panels for PMM in this series).

Ersta

In this series, you can pick up facades of bright and saturated shades: red, yellow, orange, green. They are made of chipboard in a glossy film.

Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, there were no 45 cm panels on the site, and the cost of a 60 cm facade was 3,500 rubles.

Callarp

And again chipboard in a glossy film with ends protected with acrylic plastic. There are almost no photos of completed interiors on the Internet, probably due to the not very popular color of the facades. I don't know what to call it, see for yourself:

The price of the dishwasher panel is 2100 rubles.

Calvia

The designer who created this unusual decor says that he imagined organic matter magnified under a microscope, and believes that everyone who likes it will see something of their own in it.

But it seems that Ikea is not yet sure that this series will become popular, so the site contains a single picture of a 60 cm wide door. Is this masterpiece made of chipboard in a film with plastic edges worth 4600 rubles?

Ringult

But this model is already in demand - photos of real interiors have appeared on the network. And again chipboard, and again film. The surface is smooth, glossy, the style is modern minimalistic. The colors are white and gray.

The cost is 3000 rubles. Do not forget that a panel with a width of 45 cm was selected for comparison.

Sevedal

One of the most budgetary options from the already traditional film chipboard. It stands out with wide frame panels. It looks very cozy, rustic. Only white color.

The price is affordable - 1,700 rubles.

Tingsried

The cheapness of the facades of this series is explained not only by the simplicity of the design, but also by the smaller thickness of the chipboard: it is 16 mm against the standard 18 mm. But the doors are noticeably lighter. The film covering the base imitates the texture of natural wood:

The front panel for PMM will cost only 1,080 rubles.

Thorhamn

The door frame is solid ash, the panel is chipboard and ash veneer under clear acrylic varnish. Each facade is unique, as the texture of the wood is unique. This kitchen looks quite unusual, but cozy and home-like.

The price is already much higher - 4700 rubles.

Filipstad

One of the most expensive series made of solid oak and natural oak veneer under stain and durable transparent varnish, thanks to to which the instructions for the care of facades are no different from the recommendations for the care of chipboard panels in film or paint.

The cost is impressive - 5700 rubles per door.

Flody

Another color model made of chipboard, but not in film, but covered with acrylic paint. In Russian Ikea, it is still represented by only one color - green. There may be other variations.

The price of the panel is 2200 rubles.

Hitarp

A very popular series among country style lovers. Doors with vertical longitudinal grooves appear to be assembled from individual wooden slats. In fact, everything is more prosaic: chipboard, acrylic and polyester paint. Only this color:

The panel for PMM will cost 3000 rubles.

Heggeby

I don’t know how to explain the unique cheapness of Heggeby facades. In the description, the same chipboard 16 mm and melamine film. But just like that. The color is exclusively white.

The price of the panel is 600 rubles.

Edserum

At first glance, this series is difficult to distinguish from Philipstad, but this is not him. The frame of the facades is made of moisture-resistant MDF, the panel is made of chipboard, all in a film imitating wood. Edges - ABS plastic.

The price is really very affordable - 1,700 rubles.

Ekestad

Again, solid oak, but the frame is thin. The main panel is oak veneer and acrylic lacquer. Natural color.

The cost of the panel is 4700 rubles.

Yutis

The only model with epoxy powder coated glass in an aluminum frame. Tempered glass, smoky. Frame color black.

For obvious reasons, there are no panels for PMM in this series, and a 40x80 cm door costs 2,600 rubles.

Conclusion

What I like about Ikea kitchens is a free warranty for as long as 25 years, compatibility with household appliances, the ability to buy additional parts to replace worn out or increase the headset. And also the fact that you don't have to run to other stores for appliances, dishes and all kinds of kitchen accessories.

With the advent of the new system, interest has only increased, especially since the assembly of furniture, judging by the video in this article, has become easier. But the models that I liked are not affordable - even to order, it often turns out cheaper.
