Error one - location
Increasingly, in modern cars, the air filter is rectangular. For this reason, many motorists have ceased to think about exactly how this unit should stand, and therefore they put it literally, at random. You can't do that. The filter must be installed exactly along or across the plates. Instructions to this effect are contained in each instruction manual and must be followed perfectly in practice. Second mistake - replacement time
The air filter should be changed every 30-45 thousand kilometers. This figure is given by most manufacturers of these products, as well as car manufacturers. Many auto mechanics recommend replacing every 15,000 km. Of course, the latter have "their own reason" in this matter. The optimal solution would be to choose an average mileage between the mentioned values. One thing is certain: driving more than 50 thousand km on one filter is the best way to drive a car for repairs.
