In construction and facade work, a large number of devices are used to facilitate work. Among them, scaffolding is of particular importance, they allow you to perform work at a height, without thinking every minute about your own safety. You can freely move along them from site to site along with tools, building materials and equipment.

Scaffolding

Scaffolding is a solid and stable structure; a minimum of time and money is spent on its creation. Construction and facade work is carried out from the scaffolding, their strength is enough to accommodate not only people, but also construction materials and equipment needed at a certain moment. Scaffolding is used everywhere, both in private one-story construction and during the construction of multi-storey buildings.

The absence of scaffolding calls into question many of the construction, finishing and installation works, so scaffolding will have to be purchased before construction begins. Meanwhile, this is a solid acquisition, available only to large companies that use them to implement not a single project. In the private sector, they prefer to rent this equipment.

Scaffolding rental allows you to save your budget, and if you have the right materials, you can even assemble them yourself.

With your own hands

The design of the scaffolding is very simple, you don't have to make too much effort to make it. Except for some details, the structure of different types of forests is very similar. Their main difference lies in the method of fastening and assembly. The basis is a supporting structure with elements fixed to it. So that people can move freely through the forests and work, a boardwalk is attached at different levels. Some types of forests are unstable, horizontal and diagonal struts are used to give them rigidity. If the scaffolding turns out to be high, their stability is increased by stops or fastening to the walls. For the manufacture of forests, lumber or rolled metal is used.

Wood. It is the most readily available material for making scaffolding. Often they use lumber left over after dismantling wooden structures, the main thing is that they are strong enough and without damage. It is easy to work with a tree, it is possible to collect scaffolding even without special tools and equipment. The entire structure can be made collapsible using bolted connections. Wooden scaffolding has only two drawbacks: relatively low structural strength and exposure to atmospheric precipitation.

Metal. For the manufacture of metal scaffolding, rolled pipes are used. The result is a robust structure that can withstand heavy loads, making metal scaffolding suitable for heavy equipment. Working with metal is more difficult, but it is easier to create quick-assembly scaffolding. They can be used multiple times. However, their manufacture will require special equipment, such as a welding machine.

The choice of material depends solely on the availability of tools, available resources and future plans. Disposable scaffolding is most often made of wood and then disassembled. Metallic ones can later be used more than once.

The best option

With all the variety of scaffolding, their two types are the easiest to make on their own: wooden and pin. They are the easiest to manufacture and do not require complex mountings. Wooden ones are made from sawn timber, their degree of processing can be any. The basis of the scaffolding is a wooden frame, it is made from a bar. For spacers and crossbars, a beam with a smaller section or boards are used, the flooring is also made of boards. In addition, the limiting railings are manufactured. Wooden scaffolding does not make great heights, for this it would have to be strengthened. Working at high heights requires the use of metal.

It is easier to make metal scaffolding with pin. They take less time and effort, they are easy to assemble and disassemble, they consist of the same elements, and also do not require the purchase of complex mountings. The only thing that is definitely required is a welding machine and the ability to use it. With its help, bent pins from the reinforcement are welded to the transverse pipes, and hinges to the posts.
