I haven't written an article for a long time, and today I want to share with you our new work from a couple of pieces of fabric, or rather, from artificial felt. Basically, if you find it difficult to find felt, then you can replace it with another dense fabric that does not fray.
For work it took:
· Felt of two colors;
· Paper, scissors, pen or pencil, remnant;
· Hot glue;
· Pins, thread, needle;
Sewing machine (optional)
· Small pillow.
We took the dimensions based on our pillow, they may be different for you.
Step 1.
Cut out 2 squares from felt with dimensions of 40 by 40 cm.
Step 2.
A rectangle with dimensions of 9 by 5 cm was cut out of paper.
We folded it along and cut a leaf out of it.
Step 3.
Using a piece of paper as a template, 9 leaves were drawn on felt and cut out.
Step 4.
Hot glue was applied to one side of the leaf and the sheet was glued.
On the other hand, they also glued the leaf a little.
For your information! Hot glue adheres very well to porous surfaces, especially felt and similar materials. We already did similar hot glue felt work a few years ago, and it still holds up perfectly. You can even safely wash it with your hands in not very hot water.
Step 5.
A strip with dimensions of 15 by 1 cm was cut out of felt. We made cuts and, using hot glue, twisted them into a tube. This is how it happened.
Step 6.
Glued to the center of the square.
Step 7.
Glued previously prepared sheets in a circle.
Step 8.
Cut a strip of 9 x 0.5 cm from felt.
9 leaves were also cut into the second row. Then they combined the leaves with stripes, as in the photo.
Step 9.
We glued the second row of leaves.
Step 10.
They also glued felt strips folded in half in several places.
Step 11.
We marked both squares with pins and sewn them on a typewriter.
Step 12.
A pillow was placed inside and sewn under the collar.
