Good afternoon, my reader. Perennial flowers develop well when space is provided for them. However, this condition can play a cruel joke: bald spots (glades) form on the flower beds. The soil in these places quickly erodes, dries up or becomes overgrown with weeds. Fortunately, this problem is easy to fix with annuals.

How to fill the gaps in flower beds
You can close the formed bald spots on the flower bed with the help of annual flowers. For this, unpretentious and rapidly developing cultures are suitable. They are planted with seeds in early spring or before winter. And the easiest way is to grow seedlings and close the empty areas of the flower garden.
Nasturtium
All varieties of unpretentious nasturtium bloom from early or mid-summer until the very frost. Large seeds have excellent germination. Dwarf varieties are suitable for a flower bed, which can also be used as a border.
Calendula
The unassuming calendula is often known to summer residents only as a medicinal crop. However, there are many ornamental species of this plant with large double flowers (up to 10 cm in diameter) of a wide variety of colors.
In addition, depending on the variety, the height of the calendula can be from 15 to 85 cm. Some species look impressive not only in a flower garden: when drawing up bouquets, they can be used for cutting.
Ageratum
Small seeds of ageratum are best planted on seedlings. Sprawling bushes with a dense bright green crown from the very beginning of summer are decorated with lush inflorescences consisting of small shaggy balls.
Depending on the type of plant, the buds have different colors: snow-white, bright blue, pale lilac, yellow, pink, purple. The height of the bushes from 20 to 50 cm allows using ageratum in any flower arrangements.
Cineraria seaside
A spectacular annual plant - an example of firmness and unpretentiousness. Its delicate foliage looks unusual due to its silvery color. In addition, the ornamental culture is not demanding on the composition of the soil and easily tolerates the absence of moisture.
However, cineraria needs a bright sunny color, thanks to which its shoots acquire a unique shade. However, when decorating a flower bed, it should be borne in mind that in most varieties of this culture, shoots do not exceed 20-25 cm.
Houseplants
You can also disguise a clearing in a flower garden with the help of indoor plants. To do this, plant them in the soil during the summer season or put them directly in pots. Indoor crops such as coleus, begonia, pelargonium, etc., feel great in the open field.
Problematic corners of the garden
Plants do not feel comfortable in every corner of the garden. Almost every site has places with infertile or waterlogged soil. In addition, not the entire territory of the cottage is equally illuminated by the sun.
To correct this annoyance, you can use raised (bulk) flower beds. Or use hanging pots, volumetric flowerpots, containers for planting ornamental plants.
Indoor crops that do not need too bright lighting can be placed in the shaded corners of the site. For example: Philodendron, Epipremnum plumose, Sansevieria, Aspidistru, etc.
The appearance of the flower bed does not always please summer residents with an ideal order. However, this is easy to fix if you are not afraid of experiments and approach this matter with a grain of salt.
