These errors can deprive you of health and even life!
Despite the existence of strict safety rules, many "craftsmen" prefer to ignore them. Both beginners and professionals regularly make mistakes when working with a grinder. Unfortunately, the consequences are sometimes dire and even fatal.
I strongly advise you not to forget about safety precautions, I especially want to focus on three rules that you need to know, like the multiplication table or the alphabet. Remember, any mistake can cost you not only health, but even your life.
1. Watch where the sparks fly while you work
When cutting metal, many try to make the sparks fly in the opposite direction. Everything seems to be logical, but this is wrong. Not knowing this simple truth, many get serious injuries while working with a grinder.
Sparks "from themselves" carry not only the danger of ignition, but also the risk of strong recoil. To put it another way, recoil is an instantaneous response to a clamped disc. Because of this, the mechanism stops, the tool becomes uncontrollable and moves in the direction in which the disc was rotating.
Think, if the sparks flew in your direction, then the grinder, escaping from your hands, will fly in the opposite direction. And if you tried to prevent sparks from falling on your clothes and body, then the instrument will fly straight at you. Note that the speed of rotation of the disk will be about 13 thousand revolutions.
2. To cut on weight - to harm health!
Aren't you confused by the photo above? But it confuses me. At first glance, everything is fine: if you need to cut an iron rod or pipe, then they are put on two stops and start to work. However, this error is fraught with consequences.
The disc will gradually sink into the metal, and the cut edges will not begin to bend. On the contrary, they will put pressure on the disk, which will lead to its jamming. What will happen next - we considered in the previous paragraph.
3. Protective equipment must never be forgotten!
Naturally, many craftsmen will start shouting that it is inconvenient to cut with glasses, allegedly "the sensations are not the same." Flag in their hands. I will just say that, statistically, the most common injury during metal cutting is eye shavings. Keep in mind that these shavings are also hot, so the cornea ends immediately. In this case, the shavings fly at great speed, which allows them to firmly stick in the eye.
The situation is similar with the protective casing. It is often neglected, but I would not recommend taking it off. From personal experience, I will say that my disc shattered three times during cutting. If there was no casing, the debris would invariably fly at me. And so I managed to get off with a slight fright!
I hope that this information will be useful to you in life and work!
