It is not difficult to spot a flying adult whitefly, as these miniature insects, resembling butterflies, have a yellowish-red or white body with characteristic dark spots. The wings are covered with a mealy bloom. There are several stages in development. The larvae are located mainly on the seamy side of the leaf plates and feed on plant juices.
The main signs of whitefly settlement on plants:
- discolored holes and punctures on the upper surface of the leaves;
- whitish or dark marks located on the seamy side of the leaf plates;
- the oppressed state of vegetable and green crops;
- yellowing and gradual drying of the affected leaves;
- detection, upon examination, on the lower surface of the leaves of small whitish insects that fly up at the slightest touch;
- lagging plants in growth.
If measures are not taken in a timely manner to destroy the pest, then after a while you can notice that the plants stop developing. This further serves as the reason for a decrease in fruiting and an insufficient and poor-quality crop.
An effective way to fight
Analyzing the methods used by gardeners to eliminate such a dangerous pest as the whitefly, it should be noted that in case of mass destruction, they do not have the desired effect. Spraying the aerial part with herbal infusions or soapy water demonstrates especially low efficiency.
However, one method can be distinguished that allows you to destroy the whitefly even with a large number of these insects. It involves the use of a fumigator.

Fumigator application
When working with the device in a greenhouse, you must perform the following sequence of actions:
- Insert a plate recommended for killing mosquitoes into the fumigator.
- Then it is necessary to stretch the extension cord connected to the mains into the greenhouse.
- The socket is installed on a raised platform on a wooden surface.
- A fumigator is inserted into it.
- Leave the device overnight in the greenhouse, which must be sealed.
- By morning, all insects usually die.
To enhance the effect or for prophylactic purposes, a similar treatment is recommended to be repeated after a week.
Using a fumigator allows you to get rid of the harmful whitefly in a greenhouse or greenhouse quickly and with high results.
