Tips for Getting Your Dream Harvest
For each type of soil, and even for a separate site, there are specific agricultural requirements. For example, if the land is dry, low ridges are used, with high humidity - high ones.
The best soil not only for potatoes, but also for many plants around the world is black soil. But despite its phenomenal fertility, nobody canceled the nuances of successful cultivation! Consider the use of ammophoska - one of the most popular mineral fertilizers.
Growing technology
- Take a large potato and cut it so that 2-3 eyes remain on each fragment - you should get about 20 pieces;
- Bordeaux mixture (one teaspoon), half a glass of ash, boric acid (one teaspoon) and potassium permanganate dissolve in 11 liters of pure water. The amount of potassium permanganate is determined "by eye": the water should acquire a slightly pinkish tint;
- soak the planting material in the resulting solution for 15-30 minutes. Processing will significantly improve the health of potatoes, eliminating many diseases and pests;
- spread the processed pieces on a rag to dry in the open air without direct sunlight;
- make twenty holes in the previously dug earth and sow potatoes in them, adding a little ammophoska to each. The eyes on the seed must be turned upwards, the hole is filled with a small mound.
As soon as the tops have grown by about 15 centimeters, earth is poured around the bush. With further growth, the operation is repeated - the aboveground part should not lie on the surface in a layer.
Following the recommendations above, you can count on a large harvest, consisting of large tubers - one bush will give up to two buckets!
Rainbow is an early potato variety that responds well to planting with ammophoska. After hilling, it bears fruit perfectly all summer, delighting the owners with a stable large harvest.
For black soil, which contains a small amount of sand, varieties such as Minerva, Slavyanka, Ogonyok and Adretta are suitable.
Don't mix different varieties, be sure to plant them separately! If the planting area is limited, it is possible to separate the different varieties from each other using a link planting of beans. In dry weather, water the plants, destroy the earthen crust with a hoe, carefully monitor the activity of Colorado beetles and other pests - this will result in an excellent harvest!
