- If you have plants that you can use as fertilizers, then now is the time to do so. Cut them off and embed them in the soil. The size of such a bed can be 4 by 1.2 meters.
Seat
The place should be bright and sunny. There should be no fences around. Let the sun's rays fall on the garden bed from all directions. Crops such as peas, beans, cucumbers, and lettuce love bright lighting. The foliage will be rich, and the fruits will be ripe, containing all useful trace elements. If beets, carrots, potatoes have enough sunlight, then they will delight you with their harvest.
Temperature and wind
Most vegetables have high yields if the temperature during growing does not drop below 6 degrees. This should continue throughout the entire period of their ripening. That is, from spring to autumn. The weather is unpredictable. Even in summer, frosts can strike. Therefore, it is important to slightly overestimate the beds. The temperature on such beds will be higher than on those that are simply on the ground. Raise at least 20-30 cm from the normal level.
The wind also negatively affects your harvest. Therefore, you can grow a live fence next to the garden bed. But it is important that it does not block the sun's rays. In the event that this is not possible, an earthen fence can be made. This means that a small embankment is made along the edges of the bed, as a result, it turns out to be surrounded by an earthen border.
Soil preparation
You need to prepare the soil in the fall. It is better if you remove all vegetation from the future garden in advance. After that you can dig it up. The soil must be heterogeneous, otherwise it will compact and turn into a hard-to-break earthen lump. The content of small pebbles in the soil is allowed, for example, agroperlite for drainage. So, moisture and oxygen will be retained in the soil. Fertilizers can be applied. All these combined will give your crop a double benefit. In the spring you will get a rich planting base. And in the fall - a good harvest!
