It was about a week before New Year 2021. An old customer called, I repeatedly altered truck trailers for Kamaz. And he asked me to calculate the cost of work and material in order to weld a trailer superstructure for transportation of meal. It just fits the chassis, and I do the entire structure.
This is a design that was needed, but this is an old photo, now we cook a little differently. Well, that's not the point. I knew the price of the material almost exactly, plus or minus a couple of thousand.
I tell him the price of the material plus the price of the work, everything suits him. The other day he was supposed to drive the chassis of the trailer and bring money for the material.
It's good that I decided to drive through the metal depots in our small village. Prices for metal went up every year after the new year, for the price I did not think. I just wanted to see the assortment, if I have everything that I need.
On one base, the assortment is always huge, there is everything you need, on the other a little cheaper, the assortment is not always good with the assortment.
At the base, I was unpleasantly surprised. Prices have already jumped, this is the number. I had to urgently recount everything, it turned out that I could get 10 thousand rubles at new prices.
Then he called back and explained the situation, the old client understood everything, no questions asked. I brought as much as I need for the material at new prices, for the work, of course, I did not throw it.
Today I was surprised again. In the morning I drove to the base, well, when I drove in, I rolled the cart that is in the photo above. The working seven broke down, I had to take this cart from dad. I bought 3 whips of professional pipes 40 by 40 and one whip 25 by 25 mm.
Fortunately, the base is not far from my house and not far from my place of work, where I rent a garage, so bring the very thing on a cart!
But distracted a little, prices rose again. The owner of the metal warehouse himself did not expect this. He and the last time say that this is not normal, they rose until the new year, it turned out that it was only the beginning.
In the two photos above, I wrote the new prices in brackets next to the old ones. The old ones are already up a little over a month ago. These are the things with metal.
