Transfer time

The most suitable - in early spring or autumn (late August - first half of September). In the summer season, roses take root in a new place poorly, experience severe stress and may die.

If there is an urgent need for a transplant at this particular time, proceed as follows:

  1. Shoots are cut by a third. In bush - by 25 cm. In curly ones - half. Stamp - by two-thirds.
  2. The buds are removed completely and do not allow new ones to appear.
  3. In a new place, the plant is abundantly watered and sprayed.
  4. Shade.

So the plant will spend maximum effort and nutrients in order to take root in a new place.

Choose a cloudy day for transplanting.

Transplant rules

A place for a rose is chosen well-lit, but without direct sunlight. Flowers fade under the bright sun.

They prefer loose, well-ventilated soil with a lot of nutrients.

Before transplanting, the bush is tied with a rope and spilled abundantly. This way they preserve an earthen lump and injure the root system less. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. The bush is dug in around the perimeter.
  2. Gradually deepening from all sides, they dig under the base.
  3. Thick long roots are cut with a sharp pruning shears, having previously treated it with a disinfectant.

You can carefully transfer a large bush with a highly developed root system using a tarp or other dense fabric. To do this, place a dug rose on it and carefully transfer it to a new place.

If the distance is large, the roots are wrapped with a damp cloth and then with a film.

Planting pit preparation

When transplanting a bush with a lump of earth, a planting hole is dug 2 times larger than it. Preparation begins 3 weeks before the scheduled event.

The bottom of the pit is drained with expanded clay.

Then fertilizers are applied:

  1. In sandy soil - peat.
  2. In clayey - sand.
  3. Low acidity - dolomite flour or chalk.
  4. The fertility of the soil is increased with the help of organic fertilizers (manure, humus, chicken droppings).

Next, a rose bush is placed. Make sure that the root collar is located at the same level above the ground as in the same place. If necessary, the hole is raised or, on the contrary, lowered. So the plant will experience less stress and take root faster.

As soon as the optimal position is found, the earth is gradually poured, evenly distributing it on all sides. The winding is removed from the earthen ball after the landing nest is half full.

The exposed root system is carefully straightened. As soon as 10 cm remains until it is completely filled, spill it. After all the moisture has been absorbed, the remaining amount of soil is poured.

At the end, the soil is slightly compacted to avoid the formation of voids.

After making sure that the bush is in an upright position, the branches are untied.

Rose care after transplant

The rose bush needs abundant watering. Carefully make sure that the soil under the plant does not dry out.

At a distance of 15 cm from the center of the bush, mineral fertilizers are applied (urea, ammonium nitrate, superphosphate, chicken droppings and others). If the transplant took place in the fall, nitrogen is excluded from the composition.

Further, the earth is loosened to a depth of 10 cm and mulched with rotted manure.

For the winter, the bushes spud and cut off the unripe shoots.

After transplantation, the rose is not moved to a new place for three years. Such a period is required for the plant to adapt.

Roses need a transplant if one of the bushes has died in the rose garden or the landscape design of the site has changed. In other cases, such an event is not required for plants.
