When it comes to where it is more comfortable to live, society is often divided into two camps: some prefer apartments, others prefer frequent houses. The first ones explain their decision by the fact that in case of any breakdowns, the corresponding services will soon arrive in the apartment building. In addition, the apartment rarely has problems with heating, because it is centralized. And home renovation is the responsibility of the management company.
Private houses are an everyday job, and any repairs have to be done on their own. I belong to the second type of people, preferring my own house with a plot. After living outside the city for several years, I came to the conclusion that without some things, life becomes less comfortable.
Here's a list of things I need to do:
1. One bathroom in the house was not enough. For convenience, you need to organize an outdoor toilet.
Of course, a rural toilet has a lot of disadvantages, but it also has significant advantages.
The neighbors on the site, while building their cottage, used a bio-toilet. When the work was completed, they removed the booth from the local area. In the house, the neighbors made a beautiful, modern bathroom, brought up an autonomous sewage system powered by electricity. Everything was beautiful, comfortable and practical, until the village was left without electricity and water for a week.
Do you know where the neighbors went to relieve themselves? To our outdoor toilet! When the situation with water and electricity in the village returned to normal, the neighbors returned the bio toilet to the site. Its main advantage is that it does not depend on communications, it will serve faithfully in any situation.
I advise you not to neglect the outdoor toilet. Let there be two of them: one comfortable in the house, the second - ordinary on the street.
2. Heating in a house is best done in two or even three types.
It is also advisable to get an electric generator and always have firewood in stock.
In my opinion, it is necessary to build a fireplace or stove in the house. Such heating options are autonomous. It will not be superfluous to store a supply of firewood, brushwood or dead wood on the site.
Naturally, in case of unforeseen situations, you need to have an electric or gas heater.
3. Large volume water tank
Of course, I made a sewage system in the house and ran water. However, just in case, I left a 2-cc iron tank on the site. The water supply in it allows me not to worry when the water is turned off in the village for a long time.
4. The cellar is a useful addition to the refrigerator
It is not always possible to fit a stock of food in the refrigerator. Since there are no large supermarkets in the village, we go to the city and shop at once for a couple of weeks. A cool cellar is great for storing food. It performs its functions even when there are problems with electricity in the village.
5. A suitable place for barbecuing (cooking other food over a fire) or barbecue.
I am a big lover of fish in all its forms. Fried fish is one of the preferred dishes in our family. Unfortunately, if you cook it in the house, all things are impregnated with an unpleasant smell.
Therefore, I prefer to make a fire on the street and fry fish on it, previously wrapped in foil. It turns out so delicious that it is beyond words. Naturally, we regularly grill kebabs and bake potatoes in coals.
I also note that a private house must have a fire extinguisher, preferably two - carbon dioxide and powder. Don't forget about the first aid kit!
