Two days ago, I reissued the Sberbank card by connecting it to a phone number that no one knows. I put Simka in the old Nokia. Yesterday I received two SMS that someone is trying to register from an Android device.
The number of the new card could not be seen by anyone except Sberbank employees. The card was not inserted into ATMs, no transactions were carried out on it. Neither the card number nor the phone number to which it is linked was published anywhere.
To be honest, I went nuts and called 900 (by the way, I can teach you how to instantly get through to a live operator through the robot: you must first tell him "card blocking", and then instead of answering the first question, say "operator"). The operator of the first line stupidly blocked Sberbank-Online for me.
They could not translate to a specialist, they said that the load was high and they say call me later. I called today, got to the second support line and found out something wonderful.
Two SMS with codes came yesterday because someone is trying to register my OLD card in the online bank, which is blocked, reissued and its mobile bank is disabled (!!!). The most amazing thing is that these SMS come to a phone number that has never been linked to that card.
It's just some kind of holiday! The card is blocked due to a fraudulent attempt, but fraudsters can calmly try to perform some actions with it and SMS will come over and over again. The operator said that after a while it will stop, but exactly when he does not know!
Cherry on the cake: SMS does not indicate which card the attackers are trying to register, so it is impossible to understand that this is all happening with the old blocked card.
