Today at work I was engaged in welding frames from a profile pipe. The contour of the frame was assembled from pipes with a cut at 45 degrees, but the middle crossbars were joined at 90 degrees. Let's talk about such a cut at 90 degrees.
This is the tool I work with. Grinder for 125 disc. I cut a profile pipe 40 by 40 mm, 1.5 mm thick.
The trick of a high-speed cut of such a pipe by a small grinder is quite simple. We just need to position the cutting pipe with the top up.
It's like we need to cut a corner. When we position the corner with its top up, it is very convenient and quick to saw it. We use the same technology for a professional pipe and get an excellent result.
We deepen the cutting disc into the top of the pipe. Then, focusing on the desired markup, we cut it in this sequence. First, we will saw through one shelf a little, then we will saw through another. And so we cut through both shelves
It is not worth cutting 2 shelves at once, it will take longer and you can slightly mow the cut. It is better to make quick shallow cuts one by one.
The speed of cutting a profile pipe in this way is at least 2 times higher than cutting all 4 shelves in turn. It has been checked many times, and now I prefer to do it that way.
