Good afternoon, my reader. Experienced gardeners know more than one way of growing vegetables from seeds. Conventionally, all techniques can be divided into traditional and non-traditional. Planting cucumbers in boiling water can be considered effective and interesting. Using this method, it is easy to achieve seedlings already on the third day. We will apply the method both for seedlings and for sowing into the soil.

Seedling

The whole process of growing cucumber seedlings consists of the following steps:

  1. Preparation of the landing tank. You will need a separate cup for each bush. A large box should be selected for several plants.
  2. Filling the containers with a nutrient substrate after moistening it.
  3. Pouring boiling water over the ground. Then the seeds are placed on the ground with the edge up, pressed into the soil and sprinkled on top of a nutritious substrate.

  5. Covering containers with foil. After that, the boxes (cups) with the planting are left in a warm place.

The sprouts will hatch after 2-4 days. Germination time is influenced by:

  • varietal accessory of cucumbers;
  • seed resistance.

Until the emergence of shoots, the film is not removed from the container.

This measure provides increased humidity and warmth. Condensation accumulates under the film, making it difficult to see the sprouts. To check their presence, it will be enough to tilt the glass from one side to the other several time, so the condensate will drain and a "window" will appear through which it will be possible to monitor the state landing.

When the seedlings appear, the film will need to be removed, because the plants need oxygen, which is not enough under the film cover. At this stage of growth, cucumbers need good lighting and proper watering. The boiling water was used solely to get quick shoots. Further, they adhere to the standard care for the cucumber planting.

Priming

Planting on an open bed is more successful and has a better effect on the growth of cucumber bushes, because in these conditions there is more land, which means there are more mineral resources. Planting vegetables in open ground using boiling water requires the following sequence of actions:

  1. A furrow is made in the soil no more than 5 cm deep and poured with boiling water (5 liters per 1 m²). The seeds are placed on the soil immediately after watering.
  2. The seeds are sprinkled with soil and pressed by hand.
  3. The landing is covered with a film or other airtight material. The canvas should be transparent so that you can see through it how the seedlings hatch. This is necessary for a timely response.
  4. After the sprouts appear, after 2 days, the film is removed to prevent their oxygen starvation. If after two days the sprouts have not appeared, then the planting is again covered for half a day or for a day with a film.

To increase efficiency, do not water all the beds at the same time - it is enough to moisten 2-3 places, lay out the seed and cover with foil. Then go to another site.

Why plant cucumbers in boiling water

The advantage of planting cucumbers in boiling water is that, under the influence of high temperature, the seedlings will hatch sooner. For the first time, cucumbers appeared on the territory of Russia, having arrived from India, where the average ambient temperature is higher. Vegetables are sensitive to high humidity at an early stage of their development. Landing in boiling water under a film cover will solve the problem of moisture and heat deficiency.

Without using this technology, cucumbers spend more time and energy to bring the sprout to the surface of the earth. This means that it will be observed:

  • slower growth of the stem;
  • lack of heat;
  • lack of light and nutrients;
  • the appearance of fewer fruits.

Insufficient moisture will result in a bitter crop. This will narrow down the range of uses for cucumbers (bitter fruits only go to salads).

We will apply this method for growing not only cucumber bushes, but also for crops such as:

  • tomatoes;
  • parsley;
  • bow;
  • celery.
Boiling water can also be used to accelerate seed germination and obtain quick shoots of ornamental crops.
