Birch

One of the most popular and frequently used ones. In addition, it aromas and refreshes the air in the steam room.

For harvesting, young, strong shoots are chosen, the leaves on which are juicy and elastic. Free of earrings, signs of disease and traces of pests.

A birch broom is steamed as follows:

  • put in boiling water for 15 minutes;
  • in the steam room, dry over the stones for 2 minutes.

Oak

Oak has a large amount of essential oils and tannins.

Harvesting begins in the second half of June - early July. At this time, the branches and leaves acquire special strength and elasticity.

Trees with large green leaves and no signs of disease are suitable. Cut off the side shoots with a sharp secateurs. Then in the shade they are laid out in one layer for an hour and only then taken home.

The broom is knitted as follows:

  • laid flat, forming a so-called "shovel";
  • the thickness of the handle should not exceed 5 cm;
  • the outer side of the leaves is directed towards the inside of the broom;
  • the workpiece is fixed with a twine.

Before drying, the product is kept under pressure for 24 hours. Then they are hung in the shade in a draft.

Steamed an oak broom:

  • pour cold water for 2 minutes;
  • hot for 3 minutes, covered with a basin.

Once the spicy aroma has appeared, the broom is ready.

The remaining water is used, gradually pouring onto the stones. It also concentrates essential oils.
