Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of my channel!

Of course, every owner of a living space, be it a house or an apartment, wants the surrounding space to be not only functional, but also had a warm atmosphere so that you could gather friends and relatives at the table and chat together in a cozy setting.

We completed our house and moved into it at the end of 2020. The foundation, floors, roof, decoration - we did everything ourselves and at the same time, together with his wife, worked out the design for their home: they designed, selected materials, worked out the details, and then did the repair themselves "under key"!

In the living room, we left wooden beams on the ceiling without cladding, while I specially purchased massive beams so that they would look noble in the interior. Before installation, I burned and polished them. So on the ceiling, I have already saved a decent amount, and as it turned out, not at all to the detriment of quality.

As for the walls, we also saved a very tidy sum with them. Since our beams remained open and when the room had already acquired volume, we figured that brick walls in the interior would be very appropriate. But, we needed to bring the dirty brickwork to perfection.

Then, I armed myself with coarse sandpaper, a metal-bristled brush and a hammer to knock down the remaining grout. Having cleaned the brickwork, we proceeded immediately to the finishing - priming and painting!

The outer walls of our house, bordering the street, are made of blocks, so they had to be plastered, but all the partitions were made of bricks. We painted all the brick walls, and their total area was 110 sq.m.! Before showing the result, I would like to describe the technology and economy ...

Technology

The brick wall is roughly cleaned with a brush and sandpaper from the masonry mortar protruding in places, after which it is primed in one layer. Then, in two passes, it is painted with latex paint, which tightens all cracks and crevices in the masonry. Everything! Very UNcomplicated!

For 110 sq.m. spent 4.5 days.

Saving

Where and on what would I have to spend the money?

  • 30 bags of plaster, 300 rubles each. - 9000 rubles.
  • 3 bags of putty, 300 rubles each - 900 rubles.
  • wallpaper 10 rolls of 1200 rubles. - 12,000 rubles.
  • time for work is saved about 1 month. if I did it myself, but for the work of the master I would give 40,000 rubles.

Total: 61,900 rubles.

How much did you actually spend?

  • primer 3 cans of 10 liters. for 600 rubles. - 1 800 rubles.
  • white matt paint 6 buckets of 9 liters. for 1100 rubles. - 6 600 rubles.
  • roller 3 pcs. for 170 rubles. - 510 rubles.
  • a long drill for a hammer drill to hide the electrical wiring inside the brick walls - 900 r.

Total: RUB 9,810

Savings: 61900 - 9810 = 52,090 rubles.

In my opinion, this is the best and very practical solution. If you scratched, stained, drilled a hole in the wrong place, smeared the wall around the switch with greasy hands - it doesn't matter. Any white paint will do for sure, repaints very quickly!

Very practical and very stylish!
