Sowing dates

To determine the timing of growing, you need to know the timing of planting in open ground and count 50-60 days from this date. In full-fledged warm greenhouses, seedlings are planted much earlier than in open ground, since for its development it needs a well-heated soil and the absence of frost.

Preparing nutrient soil for seedlings

Soil mixture for seedlings is prepared from 3 parts of humus, 5 parts of peat and 2 parts of sod land. You can also prepare a substrate from sand and earth taken in equal proportions and mixed with the same amount of peat (1: 1: 2). For the convenience of gardeners, a special soil mixture or universal soil mixture for vegetables is available for sale.

Seed preparation and sowing

Some seeds need pre-sowing treatment. For the prevention of diseases, the seeds should be placed in a pale pink solution of potassium permanganate for 15-20 minutes. After that, rinse well in running water and remove overnight in a warm place. To accelerate the emergence of seedlings, you need to soak the seeds in growth stimulants.
