Accordingly, you need to know what and from what the house will be built - brick, frame, aerated concrete. You need to know what load the foundation will bear. It is better, of course, to have a project at home. Where these parameters will be painted. But it's all worth it GOOD MONEY.
A person who builds on the money saved, and maybe even on borrowed, credit, will be the last to spend money on this "luxury".
Usually the question to what depth to make the foundation ends with the following: "The neighbors dripped to the clay and poured concrete, let's do the same, everything is fine with them, the house is standing and not cracking."
I followed approximately the same path. I did not invest a lot of money in the foundation of the country house. And I decided to go in a less costly way. Namely, I was arranged by a shallowly recessed foundation with a width and height of 40x40.
In addition, the water is close at a depth of 1 meter. There is no sense in digging to this level. In our region, according to the table, it is necessary to deepen the foundation by 1.70 meters. Which is very expensive. And the water will not allow.
Moreover, when the ground freezes, the shallow foundation will not experience lateral heaving loads on the foundation walls. The impact will only be on the sole. Ie, raise the house. I speak right away. These are my conclusions. And they may be wrong.
If I were building a private house for year-round living, and not on a garden plot, then most likely I would Did NOT apply shallow foundation. I would make the most durable structure and would not save on it. Especially after some problems with the foundations revealed this winter. But I will tell you about them shortly.
