Charging an electric car overnight? Desire is normal. Because everyone wants to recharge at night in a multi-storey residential building.
But at the same time, in this article, I will express my opinion why electric cars still have no place in urban sleeping areas.
This, of course, does not mean that all plans for the electric mobilization of cities need to be scrapped; on the contrary, I believe that they need to be increased and accelerated. Personally, I am for electric cars, and for the fact that wherever you can use electricity, as in many cases, a more ecological form of energy.
So why shouldn't electric cars be in dormitory areas? There is one elementary simple reason - there is simply no place to put it there.
Every motorist dreams of throwing his "crust" closer to the entrance - this is natural and the driver of an electric car is no exception here, but THERE IS A NUANCE! Which one? I'm telling you.
Take the case (option N1) when some "kulibins" tried to organize electric charging at their home or throw it off the window in the form of an extension cord or get it out of the basement or some other utility room and this is all very, very badly. Because it is electrical safety. This is NOT to be done. Any person who passes by this extension cord can somehow damage it (on purpose or unintentionally) and, as a result, fall under dangerous voltage.
Now let's consider option N2 - this is the installation of charging stations, mini-stations for 1-2 cars in the yard. But this is not an option. It seems that everything can be done technically. But what is the main problem? And the problem is in the parking lot. For example, in Belarus, a network is rapidly developing according to the principle (electric charging at home).
Of course, the option is when the house is managed by a partnership of owners and the tenants can manage the courtyard territory themselves (for example, like we have in Belarus). In this case, residents can agree among themselves and allocate parking spaces for charging. And if this is an ordinary high-rise building, of which there are also many more? And someone took and took a place for charging and he does not care about others? For example, as in the photo below:
Or a situation when an electric car takes a place and charges it at night. Taking a seat? And another electric car arrives and its driver also wants to charge at night, but there is no room? We can say - let's share the space, but how can we divide it then? In general, there is no answer.
In general, I believe that nowadays all the same - an electric car is a transport for residents of private houses.
What is the way out of this situation? It would be better if the owners of electric vehicles came to charge at some specialized parking (for example, underground parking) and charge there quietly. Or they bought a personal parking space for themselves and there they arranged exercises for themselves.
As another option - legislative regulation of this moment. Introduce a norm in the traffic rules - that you do not take up space near the charging station. Otherwise, it is a traffic violation with all the ensuing consequences (for example, large fines).
