The stove is the main household appliance in every kitchen, the functioning of which determines the quality of the prepared dishes. During the cooking process, fat accumulates not only on the stove, but also on the panel with handles. If not given proper attention, dirt and grease will accumulate, impair the performance of the product and interfere with flame regulation. We will show you how to clean the handles from dirt on various types of plates using available tools.
Preparatory stage
To remove grease, even from hard-to-reach places, prepare a cleaner, toothpicks, cotton pads and swabs, an old toothbrush, a foam sponge, and a soft cloth. Any product can handle light dirt, even ordinary wet wipes, and for stubborn fat, choose stronger options.
The next important point is to determine the type of handles: removable or non-removable. This is indicated in the instructions for the stove. If the documentation has not survived, try to determine it yourself. Pull the handle slightly towards you. The device will either be removed without effort, or it will remain in place. In the first case, it will not be difficult to clean the pens, in the second, you will have to tinker. Life hack: if you are sure that the fixtures are removable, but they do not lend themselves, spray their mount with WD-40 and try again. The aerosol will dissolve the accumulated dirt and dust inside, allowing the handles to be free.
How to clean removable handles
The detachable adjusters are easy to clean with regular dishwashing gel. Take a bowl, pour 2 cups of hot liquid into it and add 2-3 tsp. l. detergent. Remove the handles and dip them in the prepared solution. After 15-30 minutes (depending on how dirty it is), remove one regulator and rub it thoroughly with a brush or sponge. Repeat the procedure with the remaining ones, and then rinse them in clean water and lay them out to dry on a towel. While the handles are dry, run a damp sponge over the panel to wipe off any debris. Before installing the handles, rub the elements and the stove with a soft cloth so as not to leave streaks.
Cleaning rules for non-removable handles
In this case, you need to wash the outer surface of the elements well. Soak a cotton ball in chlorine or similar, and use it on the regulators. Alternatively, pour the solution into a spray bottle and spray the cleaning liquid onto the elements. Soak for 5-7 minutes, and then go over the handles with a brush, toothpicks, cotton swabs. Try to clean every corner. Then wipe the handles with a damp sponge, rinse the surfaces with a clean cloth and rub dry with a towel.
How to remove grease from the touchpad
Everything is simple here: mix medical alcohol and water in a 1: 1 ratio, soak a sponge in the resulting liquid and walk it over the panel. Alternative substances: table vinegar or a weak solution of citric acid. The main thing is not to use cleaners with abrasive particles or hard scouring pads, as you can scratch the stove.
What are the tools at hand to clean the regulators
1. Lemon juice
Freshly squeezed lemon juice has fat-dissolving properties. Squeeze the citrus juice into a small container, soak a toothbrush in it and process the handles. If you can only lightly erase the plaque, sprinkle with baking soda on the brush and continue the cleansing procedure. By alternately dipping the bristle tool in both products, finish washing the handles. Then wipe off the residue with a damp sponge and wipe the surface with a dry cloth. Citric acid can be used instead of juice. Stir for 2 tsp. l. in a glass of water and wipe down the adjusters. Let sit for 30 minutes and wipe off the solution with a damp sponge.
2. Acetic acid
The product cleans removable handles well and removes even old grease. Prepare a solution of 700 ml of water and a glass of 9% vinegar. Remove the handles, put them in a container and fill with the resulting liquid. Place a saucepan on the stove and turn on medium heat. Bring the liquid to a boil, and after 10 minutes, remove the container from the stove and drain the liquid. Wait for the handles to cool, fill them with cold water, dry and return to their original place.
3. Laundry soap
The soap contains alkali, which effectively removes various impurities. The method is suitable for cleaning all types of regulators: removable, non-removable, touch panel. Grate about 50 g of household products and pour half a glass of boiling water over the soap. Stir the ingredients and soak a sponge in the solution. Wipe down the non-removable handles and touchpad well. For removable adjusters, soak them in soapy water for 8-10 hours, then scrub with a hard sponge. Clean the surface with clean water and wipe with a dry cloth.
4. Ammonia
It is better to use not pure ammonia, but ammonia-anise drops, since they act more delicately. Soak a cotton pad in the preparation and wipe the dirty areas. If you chose ordinary ammonia, dilute it with water in a 1: 1 ratio. During the procedure, put on a protective mask, gloves and open the windows.

Prevention of fatty plaque
1. Clean the pens and touch panel with soapy water or damp wipes after each use. Then rub the surface so that no streaks remain.
2. To make maintaining your stove easier, cover the hob and dashboard (or wrap the handles) with cling foil. It is enough just to remove it as it gets dirty, and the inside of the stove will look like new.
3. When cleaning the stove and pens, do not use several products at the same time. They can react unexpectedly and ruin the surface.
4. Pre-test the new cleaning agent on an inconspicuous area on the cooker.
