1. Citrus peel

After preparing fresh juice of grapefruit, orange, lemon and other citrus fruits, it is important to carefully peel off the peel, leaving it in a neat glass.

A hole is made in the bottom and a soil substrate is laid. It is recommended to plant two seeds in each citrus pot so that you can then choose the strongest seedling. Plants are planted in the beds along with a fruit container, which does not injure the roots.

2. Eggshell

It is enough to make a hole at the bottom with the help of an awl, add soil, filling the shell to half, and carry out sowing. For stability, they are installed in a plastic container freed from under the eggs and covered with a lid. The transplant is practiced with shells.

4. Newspaper pots

Even old newspapers can be used, if desired, for the manufacture of seedling containers, giving preference to ordinary rather than glossy sheets.

For work, select cans, bottles of the required diameter. Pour a few tablespoons of flour into a bowl. Gradually adding water, knead a homogeneous, not very thick dough.

The newspaper is cut into layers with a height corresponding to the selected bottle. Wrap it with the first layer of paper, which is covered with a thin even layer of paste and the next layer is wound. It is also covered with a sticky mass. So they perform 3-5 turns. The object is removed, and the roll is dried. Then it is cut into cups of the desired height, which are placed in a tray and filled with a substrate. You can transplant directly into the paper, or, if desired, remove it.

5. Plastic bottles

Craftsmen make seedling containers from used plastic bottles, provided with automatic watering. One container must be cut into two parts. A hole is made in the lid with a heated awl through which the cord is pulled.

Water is poured into the lower cut-off part. And the upper one is turned over, filled with a substrate and sowing is carried out. Install in the lower section by dipping the cord into the water. Moisture through it will enter the soil. To ensure the greenhouse effect, cover with a film or another part from another bottle.

It is even easier to make a seedling container if you cut off a part of the lateral plane of the bottle. Pour soil into the container. These containers are often used for vertical landscaping.

6. Plastic cups

Very convenient pots are obtained from a variety of cups that remain after consuming sour cream, fermented baked milk, yogurt. You just need to wash this container and make a drainage hole on the bottom.

After filling with soil mixture and sowing, place them on a tray or in a convenient container. During transplanting, seedlings are easily removed from such packages without scattering an earthen coma. You just need to gently press the cup from below.

7. Filter bags used in the coffee machine

There is no need to throw away used filters after making a drink in the coffee machine. Fill the paper filter bags up to half with soil and then place them tightly on a high tray.

8. Toilet paper tubes

It is recommended to collect cardboard sleeves that are released after using paper towels or toilet paper.

It is advisable to cut long tubes in half. At one end, 4 cuts are made at ¼ of the height. The resulting blades are bent to form the bottom. Place the workpieces on the pallet. When transplanting, the seedlings do not need to be removed, since the cardboard easily decomposes in the soil.

9. Paper scraps

For making cups for seedlings, unnecessary paper is useful, which must be torn into small pieces. They are poured into a bowl and poured over with boiling water.

After a day, the moisture is thoroughly squeezed out, PVA glue is added and stirred. The resulting mass is coated on the outside of the glass. You can use baking tins in which the papier-mâché is spread over the inner planes. Leave to dry completely for about 24 hours.

10. Ice containers

For compact plants that form a small root system, unnecessary trays aimed at freezing water are suitable.

Pre-make a hole in the bottom. Then soil is poured and sowing is carried out. Since the containers are miniature, it may be necessary to transplant into larger pots as the seedlings develop.

11. Tetra Pak packages

Among the popular options for improvised seedling pots are strong durable tetra bags.

They are washed, divided into cups of the required volume and the sowing of your favorite crops is carried out. If the bag is cut along a longitudinal line, a convenient seedling container is obtained.

12. Tea bags

Used tea bags can serve as suitable molds for small seedlings.

Carefully cut off the upper part and add a little soil substrate. The seeds are sown and placed in a pallet. Tea will provide additional nutrition to the seedlings. When transplanting, you do not need to remove the sachets.

If you urgently need to sow a vegetable or green crop for seedlings, you should check your home supplies, since the pots can be quickly made yourself.
