Competent and careful calculations significantly save the overall construction budget. In today's article, we will calculate the amount of concrete that can be obtained from 1 bag of cement (the calculations are valid for the cement grade M400).

For example, you bought a bag of cement weighing 50 kilograms, and you plan to use it to prepare concrete of the M200 brand. Ingredients are required in the following quantities:

  • 50 kg of cement - we will take it as 1 part;
  • 230 kg of crushed stone, or 4.6 parts;
  • 130 kg of sand, or 2.6 parts.
  • 25 liters of water, or 0.5 parts.

We will assume that the mass of a cubic meter of concrete is 2300 kilograms. We do not use any complex formulas in our calculations. Enough division and multiplication, which take place in elementary school.

Determine the total weight of the solution. Add up all the obtained values ​​(50 + 230 + 130 + 25). I got the number 435. I think you do too.

It follows that one bag of cement is enough to prepare 435 kg of concrete. Builders usually operate not with mass quantities, but with volumetric ones. We translate our kg into cubic meters.

435 kg * 1m3 / 2300 kg

It turned out 0.189 cubic meters.
