We make large decorative balls for the garden and summer cottages from sand and cement

Hello, friends!

I want to share with you how you can make do-it-yourself and not at all expensive decorative balls for the garden and summer cottages made of sand, cement and broken tiles. I will show you 2 options for balls. In fact, it is one and the same ball, but with a difference of a couple of years.

This is what I used:

· Big inflatable ball;

· Cling film;

· HB rags;

· Cement, sand;

· Tile adhesive;

· Remains of tiles.

Now about everything in order.

First option.

Step 1.

Wrapped a large ball with cling film.

Step 2.

HB rags tore into small pieces and prepared a solution of cement and water, without sand.

Why exactly HB rags, but because they absorb water well and hold cement mortar well on themselves.

Step 3.

He moistened rags in cement mortar and glued them onto a ball. First, on one side, then he turned the ball over and pasted on the other side.

Leave to dry for 1 hour.

Step 4.

I prepared a solution from 2 parts of sand and 1 part of cement. I sprayed the ball with water.

Step 5.

I smeared the entire ball with a solution, applying 1-1.5 cm thick.

Leave to dry for 2 hours.

Step 6.

After 2 hours, another thin, leveling layer of the mortar was applied. The solution was made thinner.

Leave to dry for 24 hours.

Step 7.

A day later he blew and pulled out the ball. The ball is reusable and can be inflated again.

Processed the edges and coated with solution.

Here is such a wonderful decor.

He stood in our open-air garden for almost 2 years. And we didn’t remove it in winter. How we were criticized, sofa experts, who shouted that at the first frost the ball would crack and break! Well, where are you now!? For all the time, not a single new crack, only those that appeared during drying, small and barely noticeable.

Option 2.

After the repair, there were scraps of tiles, and I decided to refresh the ball and make a mosaic on it.

Step 1.

I soaked pieces of tiles in water for 10 minutes, and also well moistened the ball with water. All this is needed to increase adhesion.

Step 2.

I spread the tile glue (any will do) and chopped the tiles into small pieces.

Step 3.

I laid out the whole ball with a mosaic.

Step 4.

When the ball was ready, rubbed the seams with the same tile glue and left to dry for 60 minutes.

Step 5.

With a dry cloth, I wiped the ball from the glue and smoothed the seams.

That's all, another option is ready!
