Finally, I managed to make my bike comfortable to ride around the city.
Thanks to the strut extension, the fit is almost vertical.

For some reason, most bicycles on sale are not designed for city riding, although 95% of buyers use them for this.

My bike Stels Navigator 750 is eighteen years old. I was presented with it for my birthday on October 3, 2003 and I did not choose it. All these years I suffered from the fact that it was uncomfortable to sit on it and during the ride I had to lift my head up to see what was happening around.

I partially solved the problem of a narrow uncomfortable saddle with a gel cover, but with the fact that the handlebars were too low, I could not do anything for a long time.

Last year, I tried installing an adjustable stem (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/1180979.html), but it only got a little better, and besides, it creaked.

This year I ordered an extension bar. I specifically chose a store where there is a free return, as I was not sure that the extension cord would fit and be convenient. In the found store, there are three options for extension cords - 115 mm, 180 mm and 210 mm. I bought

180mm for $ 14.86.

The Chinese indicate the length of the extension along with the mount; in reality, the steering wheel has risen by 155 mm.

The length of all the cables was enough, but vnatyag. For a 210 mm extension, the front brake cable would not have been long enough.

My height is 185 cm and with the 180 mm extension, riding the bike has become much more comfortable, but the load on the saddle has increased. I'll try to replace it with a spring "sofa" and then the former mountain bike will finally become a city bike.

For the second one of the same great, I bought a plug extension 120mm for $ 7.50. The steering wheel went up by 75 mm, which turned out to be just right for a rider with a height of 171 cm.

P.S. In the title photo, behind me is the very pavilion of VDNKh, where the nuclear reactor operated in the 60s (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/467615.html).
