The grapes are usually watered in the evening, with water that has been settled and heated by the sun during the day. Watering itself is carried out in holes dug around the root of the plant or along the entire bed. Only if the plant has just been planted and does not have a strong root system, watering directly into the hole is possible. The composition of the soil must be taken into account. On sandy soil, moistening is carried out more often, but with less water, and on black soil and loams, less often, but more abundantly. Frequent summer watering should be done only in hot climates; in moderate climates, watering is stopped in August. It depends on the decision of the gardener himself. If your grape varieties are early and mid-ripening, then watering should be stopped, if late-ripening, then you can continue for some time. Excess moisture will provoke the plant to grow further, and it will not be able to prepare for the winter period. After harvesting, watering is not recommended, since the bark on the trunk can crack, and in winter the vine runs the risk of dying.
