It turns out that reinforcement can be used to make very reliable fasteners for installation in cellular, loose concrete. Such as gas block, foam block. A little "reflection" came to the conclusion that this product deserves everyone's attention, for the benefit of society.
Metal in Russia has risen in price by about three times. Accordingly, at any construction site they are trying to find a replacement for this material. Therefore, a substitute for steel reinforcement appears on the construction site more and more often.
And his name: fiberglass, although it loses to metal products in some positions, it is cheaper in price. Right now, I use it when reinforcing partitions.
And somehow, the thought appeared, what if dowels were made from pieces of reinforcement. After conducting a series of experiments, I came to the conclusion that this is a good idea. And its essence is as follows:
We cut off a piece of reinforcement, slightly longer than the screwed in self-tapping screw.
We sharpen one end with a grinder disk
The fiberglass reinforcement is very durable, so we outline a place in the gas block.
And boldly hammer in flush without preliminary drilling. Thus, we strengthen the installation site.
A hole must be drilled in the center of the reinforcement. A drill of 2-3 mm is required. Not more.
We attach our self-tapping screw and screw it in.
For adequate readers, the question immediately arises, how firmly this dowel sits in the wall.
To do this, he pulled them out with a nail puller. To be honest, I made a sufficient effort.
In the photo below, we see three dowels, the self-tapping screw passing through the hole comes out of the reinforcement into the body of the gas block, thereby further anchoring the mount in the wall.
Naturally, these products are not a replacement for special fasteners from a hardware store, but if there is necessary, then this development will find application in the economy when dowels are required, but they will not be in availability.
