My third food waste disposer

I have been using the new Bone Crusher 500 waste grinder for two weeks now and I like it much more than the previous two.

In 2011, I installed the WasteMaid 458 Kitchen Waste Disposer. It worked for almost six years, and then began to "knock out" the RCD (most likely the bearing leaked and water began to enter the motor). I wrote about him here:

In 2019, I installed a new Midea MD1-C75 shredder, it lasted less than two years - it also started to "knock out" the RCD.

(I wrote about the first two shredders here: https://ammo1.livejournal.com/216679.html and here https://ammo1.livejournal.com/1042559.html).

I decided that I should try to put in a new shredder that will last for a long time. I already wanted to buy some not the cheapest model from the market leader of shredders - In-Sink-Erator, but at the last moment I remembered their eternal competitor BoneCrusher (both companies are American, and America is the "homeland" shredders). It turned out that the In-Sink-Erator has a warranty for different models from 2 to 4 years, and the BoneCrusher has 5 years for all models, including the youngest ones.

The smallest BoneCrusher 500 model is the cheapest in Leroy Merlin (I bought it for ~ 10,500 rubles, now it costs 11995 rub), and in all other stores it is for some reason much more expensive (for example, in Ozone there are almost 20 thousand).

Compared to the Midea MD1-C75, the new shredder looks tiny.

For installation, I did not even have to change the neck - it is exactly the same and the new chopper stood on neck from Midea (however, it is possible that the neck is still from WasteMaid, it looks like they are all compatible).

A nice bonus - there is a plastic pusher included in the kit to help push food leftovers through the gum of the grinder (the previous two models did not have it and had to push through the canteen spoon).

My biggest surprise with the new shredder is that it is quiet. Very quiet! It just so happens that my previous two shredders were big and powerful and the difference in noise is huge.

As far as power and size are concerned, there is no problem with that. I don’t grind meat bones (although it’s Bone Crusher - "bone breaker"), but for everything else, it turned out to be more than enough.

Let's see how long the third shredder will last, and whether you have to take advantage of the five-year warranty.

P.S. I didn't write about why a kitchen chopper is needed and how convenient it is. If this isn't obvious to you, check out my previous articles on the linked shredders at the beginning of this post.
