  • Jul 31, 2021

It takes a lot of time and effort to equip a kitchen. One of the main tasks is the choice of a kitchen set. To avoid wasting time and money, you need to plan your budget, decide on the configuration and facades. The designer told about the existing nuances Asia Orlova.

7. Decide on a budget

Getting started choosing a headset, first of all, you should decide on the budget. In the course of planning, unforeseen costs will inevitably arise. You need to be prepared for them. In order not to get into a mess, it is better to pre-lay 15-20% more than in the original calculations.

This will form a kind of "safety cushion" that will save you if expensive fittings or internal filling of boxes suddenly go beyond the budget. All these little things can be very expensive.

6. To plan

Before going to the salon, it is better to think for yourself about what kind of kitchen you would like to see. The more detailed the picture is in your head, the faster you will be able to resolve the issue with the manufacturer. First of all, you need to understand how much time you intend to devote to cooking and how much storage space you need. The size of the headset, work surface and a set of equipment will depend on this. As for the latter, you also need to provide a sufficient number of outlets.

Unfortunately, not all shop assistants are qualified. Basically, typical projects are offered that do not take into account the individual needs of the client. However, if you plan everything yourself, the seller will quickly make an estimate and inform you about the price.

Write yourself a hint list describing the techniques you use for your daily cooking and kitchen work. Think over the technology of your kitchen in advance. This will save yourself time during the design phase and make the functional requirements for the future kitchen clearer.

5. Choose a dining area

Another important question, closely related to the selection of a headset, concerns the dining area: in what form will it be present? Will it be a full-fledged table, folding table, bar counter or an enlarged window sill as a table top? The choice should be based not only on external attractiveness, but also on convenience. So, for a large family, one bar counter may not be enough. For small children and the elderly, this type of landing can be uncomfortable.

Don't go for a trendy piece like a kitchen island if the piece of furniture clutters the space and makes the room narrow and uncomfortable. You can rearrange the table, especially the transformer, but not the island.

4. Consider the design of the facades

The design of the facades should correspond not only to the preferences of the customer, but also to the technological characteristics of the kitchen and, most importantly, to the design of your interior as a whole. A classic kitchen with wooden fronts and elaborate handles will look strange in a loft interior, even if you really like it.

Try to choose integrated handles for the kitchen or options with a wide grip under your fingers. Narrow options with a small gripping area are inconvenient to open and can cost the owner a manicure.

Light facades visually increase the space. Modern coatings like "Phoenix" make facades resistant to damage and impervious to dirt. At a higher price, however, they will save you kitchen maintenance efforts in the future.

Painted facades require more careful operation than laminated chipboard, but at the same time, full surface painting protects the door from the ends better.

3. Select headset configuration

Another task is to decide on the configuration of the headset. The L-shaped arrangement is optimal for small kitchens; a dining group can be placed in a free corner. U-shaped or parallel staging is suitable for elongated rooms, provided that the width of the passage is at least 1.2 m.

For studios and combined kitchen-living rooms, linear placement is preferable. Such a kitchen will look laconic and be perceived as part of the room.

2. Order a ready-made kitchen or on order

Here the choice will depend on the configuration of the kitchen itself. If niches and protrusions are present, standard cabinets may not fit.

In this case, you will have to make the headset according to an individual sketch. This will be more expensive, but will save you the trouble of purchasing various hidden trims or cover panels.

1. Decide on ergonomics

The main rule of an ergonomic kitchen is the working triangle rule. It implies that the storage areas (refrigerator), sinks and cooking should form a conditional triangle, ideally - equilateral, with sides from 1.2-2.7 m.This minimizes the number of throwing around the kitchen, which means it will save energy and time.

In the case of a linear kitchen, these household items should be within walking distance and not be stretched over long distances. Even with a large kitchen area, this rule should be observed. Moreover, work areas should not be separated from each other by a dining table.
