1. Sealant
Use sealant for gaps up to 1 cm. Otherwise, it is necessary to use another agent or combine a silicone substance with cement or polyurethane foam.
Sequencing:
1. If you have an acrylic bathtub, fill it with water. Leave cast iron products as they are.
2. Clean and degrease the working area, and cover the bathtub and wall with masking tape (be sure to leave a corner of 5-7 mm).
3. For ease of use, insert the silicone sealant into the gun. Treat the gap in one layer, the second is not needed, as it can ruin the surface.
4. Remove excess with a brush or soft spatula, after dipping them in soapy water.
5. Level the surface and let the sealant dry overnight.
6. After 24 hours, remove the tape, drain the water and use the bath.
2. Corner
When finishing a wall with tiles, buy a special insert - a plastic or aluminum inner corner. It must be fixed above the bathroom, and then start tiling. The advantages of this method: high-quality sealing and hygiene. Minus - can be installed only during the repair process.
Sequencing:
1. Mark the planks and prepare the details.
2. Apply glue to the attachment point and install the corners.
3. Take a tile and insert it into the grooves of the glued products. Lay out the first row in a similar way, and then the rest.
4. After a day, rub the seams and the joint.
3. Polyurethane foam
The tool is only suitable for rough finishing, since additional protection will still have to be applied on top. You can use foam if the gap is no more than 3 cm. The advantage is that the product expands and hardens. Disadvantage - if the surface gets dirty, it is very difficult to clean it.
Sequencing:
1. Cover the floor with old newspaper or paper, clean and degrease the tub, wall.
2. Cover the area to be treated with tape. Wear a face shield and gloves.
3. Shake the foam and insert the can into the gun. Fill the joint carefully and wait for the substance to dry completely.
4. Use a knife to remove excess foam and apply a sealant on top, which is used for plastic and ceramic cases.
4. Cement
If the gap is large enough, it can be cemented. Budget, reliable and easy option. Among the disadvantages - you need waterproofing, since cement is also suitable only for rough work. You can disguise it with self-adhesive, plastic corners or the tiles themselves.
Sequencing:
1. Clean the work area and then wet to improve adhesion.
2. Dilute the cement until creamy and fill the joint with a spatula. If the gap is more than 1 cm, use plastic mesh or formwork to prevent the mass from falling through. Install them before starting work, and remove after hardening.
3. Wait until the cement is completely dry, treat it with a water-repellent impregnation and only then decorate.
5. Tile grout
The simplest way to seal a joint after repair. If there is a mixture that was used to rub the joints of the tiles, use it. If not, you will have to cook a similar one. The only negative is that grout is only suitable for gaps up to 0.5 cm.
Sequencing:
1. Clean the joint and moisten the work area.
2. Dilute the grout and apply it to the crevice with a rubber trowel. To seal the gap, hold the tool at a 45 degree angle and press harder.
3. Within an hour after finishing work, remove excess grout with a damp washcloth.
4. After 72 hours, glaze the surface with Fugue-Shine impregnation. It will make the seam smooth, protect against moisture, stains and rust. Apply with a brush and wipe off excess with a dry cloth.

6. Plastic skirting board
Plastic skirting board is a budgetary and easy-to-use tool. It can even be installed over panels, cladding and paint.
Sequencing:
1. Clean and degrease the work area, cover the tiles and the edge of the tub with masking tape.
2. Fill the gap with silicone sealant and let it dry completely.
3. Trim the skirting board to size and glue over the crevice with sealant or liquid nails.
4. Install the plugs and do not use the bath for 24-48 hours until the materials are dry.
7. Self-adhesive
Self-adhesive tape is an easy and quick way to hide blemishes. Purchase a roll of material and a spatula to shape the corners. The self-adhesive contains a sealant, so the joint will be reliably protected.
Sequencing:
1.Wash and degrease the area with the gap. To keep the tape pliable, heat it with a hair dryer while gluing.
2. Take the material, remove the protective film and attach the slits in place. Stick the tape to both the bathtub and the wall, and use a spatula to form an even curve.
All methods are good in their own way, so use the one that suits the appropriate gap size. If you are only going to make repairs, immediately take care of the joints so that in the future you do not have to mask the problem. We also advise you to read, how to dissolve the remaining silicone sealant so as not to damage the surface underneath.
