Burned ink spoiled two cartridges

  • Aug 16, 2021

For many years, I have successfully refilled Canon inkjet printer cartridges that can hold dozens, if not hundreds, of refills. Unfortunately, this year I bought ink from the Mitinsky radio market, which killed two cartridges.

The first to suffer was the PG440 cartridge of my new Canon TS5140 MFP. I refilled it five times already and when the ink ran out again, I refilled it with new ones, but he did not want to print (he printed only a little bit at the beginning of the sheet). I thought it must be something with the cartridge and left the solution to the problem "for later".

The old Canon MP210 ran out of ink today. The PG40 cartridge, which was in it, was already 13 years old and I refueled it several dozen times. Today he ran it in, but he doesn't print. And then it dawned on me that it was not for nothing that the PG440 could not be refueled.

Perhaps the pigment ink was replaced with water ink. I suspect that the manufacturer has nothing to do with it - I have always bought just such inko ink in syringes. Here's an old package with good ink and this one.

The package is sealed with a single paper clip, so it's easy to fold it back and change syringes.

I'm afraid that it will not be possible to wash the cartridges from this muck, so I will have to buy new ones.

Moral: if, after refueling, the cartridge suddenly does not print, think about it, maybe the ink is to blame?
