Pepper loves clean and soft water. Its temperature should be around 25 ° C. It is recommended to water the crop in the morning or in the evening when the sun goes down. The greenhouse can be left to ventilate for 1 hour. Watering is carried out 1 or 2 times a week. The soil in the greenhouse should always be moderately moist.
Fundamental rules
With active development, the pepper needs more water, and less before harvesting. For 1 square meter of land, 10 liters of water are spent. Water should not fall on the aerial part of the plant.
At the first stage of culture development, you can water it every 2 or 3 days. One bush consumes up to 5 liters of water.
The most affordable is manual watering. A watering can or bucket is used. Water is directed to the root. Simultaneously with water, you can make a liquid top dressing.
The automatic method is expressed in the creation of a system with sensors. Humidification occurs without human intervention. The system turns itself on and off. The disadvantage of the system is its high cost. It is necessary to think in advance about the installation of the system inside the greenhouse.
With a mechanical system, there is also no constant monitoring of the gardener. Sprinkler or irrigation installations are installed in the greenhouse. They are connected to the hoses. The hoses, in turn, are connected to electricity and a water source. For watering, you need to manually give access to water and close the tap after watering.
Sprinkler irrigation is rarely used in greenhouses. Such procedures lead to the fact that the greenhouse needs to be ventilated more often, which complicates maintenance.
Features of drip irrigation
The essence of drip irrigation is that hoses or pipes with small holes near the pepper bushes are laid in the greenhouse between the rows. The water goes directly under the roots in small volumes.
When using this method, the soil remains moderately moist, but acidification does not occur. The system does not need special control. To create it, perforated flexible hoses are used.
Polycarbonate greenhouses have good thermal insulation and light transmission. For watering pepper, it is worth using a mechanical or drip method. Such moistening will provide plants with the required volume of liquid, but without bays.
A medium sized greenhouse requires 10 liters per 20 pepper bushes each time.
Gardeners' recommendations
It is necessary to introduce organic and mineral dressings. In the spring, manure is bred in water with nitrogen in the amount of 1 kilogram per bucket. In the fall, 10 g of urea and 20 g of superphosphate should be added to 10 liters of water. The tool makes vegetables more juicy, the yield becomes larger.
When grown in a greenhouse, peppers are recommended to be tied to supports. For irrigation, rain, well, melt water is used. Ideally, it will sit for 12-14 hours beforehand.
If the composition of the water is still too hard, add 250 g of wood ash per 10 liters of water. The product will soften the liquid by enriching it with minerals.
If the ground is sandy, then the pepper will need more frequent watering. In such soils, water evaporates faster.
