Spetsnaz traditionally receives the best and most diverse equipment, which should allow its soldiers to solve the widest range of tactical tasks. You may also need weapons made according to the bullpup scheme. Today, this design is not very popular among domestic gunsmiths. The "Nomad" complex, developed for the needs of the special forces and the FSB, solves the problem of lack of choice.
The bullpup layout diagram for machine guns and rifles appeared in the 1930s. It was developed by Czech weapons designers in 1937. Subsequently, their developments were also used by German gunsmiths, but during the Second World War, as well as in the first decades after it, the bullpup concept did not gain wide popularity. Deserved fame and worldwide recognition came only in 1977 after the appearance of the Austrian Steyr AUG rifle.
Experiments with bullpup were carried out in the USSR as well. However, the design was not widely used either in the East or in the West. As a result, the bullpup was destined to occupy a very specific niche in the field of weapons construction. This layout has a number of serious advantages over the classic one. These include: exceptional compactness, increased bullet speed (increased range), more convenient reloading when using weapons in a car or when firing through an embrasure, virtually complete absence of a shoulder recoil.
At the same time, bullpup also has quite natural disadvantages: an unusual center of gravity for shooters, the inability to use weapons by left-handers, problems with installation of some scopes, difficult reloading from a prone position, difficulties with the use of high-capacity magazines, often flying straight in the face liners. And yet, there is interest in this layout. Especially in special units of different countries. In this respect, Russia is no exception. In addition to the original "special" developments like the OTs-14 "Groza", the shortage of weapons with a bullpup layout should compensate for a new weapons system for the FSB and special forces.

Complex "Nomad" is not an independent type of weapon, but a set of special tools that allow you to change the layout of most domestic assault rifles from "classic" to bullpup. Today "Nomad" allows you to alter the AK-74M, AK-103, AK-104 and AK-105 assault rifles. The trigger mechanism of the weapon is transferred to the forend area, and the initial bracket is closed with a special plug. Alteration of weapons in experienced hands takes a matter of minutes. In addition, the domestic development is equipped with a standard case reflector, allows you to install most tactical accessories and has a "native" recoil reduction system. After alteration for a bullpup, the dimensions of the weapon will not exceed the dimensions of the AK-74M.
